Abstract: A length of splicing tape is provided for splicing a trailing end of a first material to a leading end of a second material. The splicing tape includes an identification device. The identification device is used to allow detection of a splice defined by the splicing of the trailing end of the first material and the leading end of the second material.

Abstract: An approach to disabling an RFID. The operative range of an RFID is determined in part by the matching between the wavelength of the radiation used to communicate, and the length of the antenna used. Under the invention, the length of the antenna is changed, to reduce the operative range.

Abstract: A label of the type bearing an RFID device, and removably attached to a backing liner. A cavity is formed in the label, the liner, or both. The RFID device is positioned in the cavity. If the RFID device were not placed into the cavity, but merely laminated between the label and the liner, then the RFID device would create a bulge. Processing steps which apply pressure would then apply large pressure at the bulge, perhaps damaging the RFID device.

Abstract: A shelf talker includes adhesive on the upper back side thereof, and a small release liner bonded thereto. The liner is severed by a cut line into top and middle tabs atop the adhesive, and a lower tab is suspended from the middle tab without adhesive between the tab and label.
