  • Patent number: 7776028
Abstract: A reduced pressure treatment appliance is provided for treating a wound on the body of a patient. In some embodiments, the appliance comprises an overlay, which is further comprised of cup members that may be detached or cut away from the overlay so that the overlay can be adjusted in size and shape. Also, in some embodiments, the overlay is further comprised of a pressure venting valve to maintain a predetermined level of reduced pressure at the site of the wound. In other embodiments, the wound treatment appliance also includes a vacuum system to supply reduced pressure to the site of the wound in the volume under the overlay. In yet other embodiments, the treatment appliance also includes wound packing means to prevent overgrowth of the wound or to encourage growth of wound tissue into an absorbable matrix comprising the wound packing means. In still other embodiments, a suction bulb may be used to provide a source of reduced pressure to an overlay that covers the wound.

  • Publication number: 20100203578
Abstract: Provided are methods and devices for separating particulate analytes or aggregates of analytes from a fluid, after the separation medium of the device is saturated with the fluid. The endpoint indicating completion of the separation is determined by saturation; therefore, no precise metering of the fluid sample is necessary. The separated analyte of interest can be detected, quantitated or its migration measured in the separation medium. The measured property of the analyte can then be correlated with a parameter of interest. In some embodiments, the device can be marked to directly read the value of the parameter of interest. In one embodiment, the fluid is blood and the device includes a volumetric capillary reservoir for collecting the blood, a separation paper or indicator strip, and graduations for correlating the migration of red blood cells with hematocrit or hemoglobin concentration.

  • Publication number: 20100192989
Abstract: A glass sheet washing machine with a broken glass removal system includes a support, a liquid container or reservoir, a pump, a liquid applicator, and a liquid permeable member. The support supports a glass sheet being washed. The liquid reservoir is positioned below the support. The pump is coupled to the liquid reservoir. The liquid applicator is coupled to the pump. The liquid applicator applies the liquid from the liquid reservoir to wash the glass sheet. Excess liquid falls into the reservoir. The liquid permeable member is positioned between the support and the liquid reservoir to catch pieces of glass to inhibit the pieces of broken glass from falling into the liquid reservoir and is moved to remove the pieces from the glass washing machine.

  • Patent number: 7762453
Abstract: A method of providing information to a user via a printed substrate. The substrate comprises user information and coded data. The coded data is indicative of a region identity associated with the substrate and of a plurality of locations on the substrate. The method comprises the steps of: receiving interaction data indicative of the region identity and a position of a sensing device; identifying and retrieving a page description corresponding to the printed substrate using the region identity; determining whether the sensing device is positioned within a zone of a hyperlink on the substrate; and (i) if the sensing device is positioned within the zone of the hyperlink: sending a hyperlink URI or a hyperlinked resource corresponding to the hyperlink to the user; or (ii) if the sensing device is positioned outside the zone of the hyperlink: generating a query expression, forming a request and sending search results to the user.

  • Patent number: 7651569
Abstract: A pedestal is provided for supporting wafer boats in a process chamber during semiconductor fabrication. The pedestal contains hollow spaces, such as within porous insulating plugs, and gases inside the pedestal may expand during semiconductor processing. The pedestal has an opening for exhausting gases out of its interior and into the process chamber. The opening is provided with a filter, in the form of a sintered ceramic or glass disc sealed within a tube covering the opening, to prevent the passage of particles which may be present inside the pedestal. By filtering the particles, the filter removes a source of contamination, thereby allowing for high quality process results on wafers processed in the process chamber.

  • Patent number: 7632468
Abstract: A retaining clip for retaining reagent test slides in a stacked arrangement includes a first assembly having a first cover plate and at least two parallel, co-planar rails extending transversely from an inner surface of the first cover plate. A second assembly includes a second cover plate, and a rail receiving platform extending transversely from an inner surface of the second cover plate. The first cover plate and the second cover plate define between them a space for receiving the plurality of reagent test slides. The rails of the first assembly include ratchet teeth, and the rail receiving platform of the second assembly includes pawls. The pawls engage the ratchet teeth to prevent the separation of the first assembly and the second assembly and to securely but removably hold the plurality of reagent test slides in a stacked arrangement between the first and second cover plates.
