  • Patent number: 8923571
Abstract: In an example, a method for automated camera flat fielding and alignment may include determining a magnification of a camera relative to a first camera axis that is generally parallel to a first print media axis by evaluating first and second magnifications between transitions from a first color to a second color on a setup plot. The method may further include determining, by a processor, a rotation of the camera relative to the first camera axis such that the first magnification is approximately equal to the second magnification.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 16, 2012
Date of Patent: December 30, 2014
    Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
Inventors: Brad N. Dixon, Timothy S. Hubley, Ronald R. Anderson

  • Patent number: 8330792
Abstract: A method of measuring video latency between a sender and a receiver in a video conference system is disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes initiating an electrical signal from a first location in a video conference system, transmitting the electrical signal through the video components of the video conference system, reflecting the electrical signal back through the video components of the video conference system and measuring the latency of the electrical signal at the first location related to the transmission and reflection of the electrical signal.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 31, 2007
Date of Patent: December 11, 2012
    Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
Inventors: Ted Beers, Jon A. Brewster, Donald W. Welch, Timothy S. Hubley

  • Patent number: 7005603
Abstract: A method for marking a polymeric surface includes directing a first laser beam on the surface to form a lightened area on the surface and directing a second laser beam upon the lightened area to form a mark darker than the lightened area.
