Patent number: 8981593Abstract: A control unit connected to power supplies and loads transitions between states to connect supplies and loads in various configurations. In a first state, for example, the first supply and first load are connected in series, and the second supply and second load are connected in series. In a second state, the first supply and second load are connected in series, and the second supply and first load are connected in series. The control unit transitions between states via a transition state in which all supplies and loads are connected in parallel, avoiding load power disruptions. First and second power supplies can be rechargeable battery packs, and first and second loads can be any devices drawing or generating power. If one load is a motor and the other a generator, one battery can power the motor and the other battery can be charged using the generator.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2011Date of Patent: March 17, 2015Inventors: Herbert F. Kimpel, Timothy A. Stevenson

Patent number: 8700494Abstract: A product catalog system includes a product catalog having product offers received from various merchants. The product catalog system includes an analysis module that determines, for each merchant that provides product offers, which product offers are for products that are likely to be variants of one another based in part on titles of the products and assigns sets of product offers that are likely to be variants a merchant cluster identifier. The analysis module groups the product offers into product catalog entries based on the particular product that the offers are for. The analysis module determines which products are variants based on associations between the product catalog entries and the merchant cluster identifiers of the product offers included in the product catalog entries.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2011Date of Patent: April 15, 2014Assignee: Google Inc.Inventors: Andy Carlson, Liangying Wu, Timothy Stevenson

Publication number: 20060095968Abstract: An intrusion detection system (IDS) is capable of identifying the source of traffic, filtering the traffic to classify it as either safe or suspect and then applying sophisticated detection techniques such as stateful pattern recognition, protocol parsing, heuristic detection or anomaly detection either singularly or in combination based on the traffic type. In a network environment, each traffic source is provided with at least one IDS sensor that is dedicated to monitoring a specific type of traffic such as RPC, HTTP, SMTP, DNS, or others. Traffic from each traffic source is filtered to remove known safe traffic to improve efficiency and increase accuracy by keeping each IDS sensor focused on a specific traffic type.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 25, 2005Publication date: May 4, 2006Applicant: Cisco Technology, Inc.Inventors: Maurizio Portolani, Mauricio Arregoces, Timothy Stevenson

Patent number: 6884507Abstract: The present invention provides tough, high modulus, low density thermoset polyurethane compositions which are useful in general as, for example, cast structural materials and in a preferred embodiment can be cured directly onto an aircraft engine fan blade, thereby providing a lighter blade, without concomitant loss in structural integrity or blade performance due to, for example, resistance to foreign object impacts and fuel efficiency. In a preferred embodiment, the composition is comprised of bis-amine compounds reacted with isocyanate-functional polyether polymers in the presence of hollow polymeric microspheres. The thermoset polymer compositions are formed by casting into a mold which is formed by a cavity within the metallic or composite fan blade or guide vane in the form of a pocket and a removable caul sheet. After the elastomeric polyurethane foam is injected through at least one injector port into the mold, the foam is cured.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2003Date of Patent: April 26, 2005Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Wendy Wen-Ling Lin, Scott Roger Finn, Kevin Warner Flanagan, Joseph Timothy Stevenson, James Claude Carnahan
