Publication number: 20230347223Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an adjustable-incline climbing wall. The climbing wall comprises a climbing surface and a system for adjusting the climbing surface to a desired incline. By positioning the pivot point for the climbing surface in front of the bottom edge of the climbing surface, embodiments of the climbing wall minimize or eliminate the unusable “dead space” at the bottom of the climbing surface that is created when conventional adjustable climbing walls are placed at higher angles of incline. Moreover, by angling the legs of the support structure outward, embodiments of the climbing wall provide for an extended fall area that is free from obstructions, providing enhanced climber safety. Finally, embodiments of the climbing wall are freestanding structures, which are easily installable in a climber's home or personal gym without damage to floors or walls.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2023Publication date: November 2, 2023Inventors: Joseph Sweeney, Timothy Sudeith, Sarah Mae Howard, Benjamin Tiffin

Patent number: 10413467Abstract: Various embodiments include a system that provides assisted access to a pool. The system includes a platform that includes a frame, a deck, and one or more handrails. The deck is attached to the frame and sized to receive a wheelchair. The one or more handrails are attached to at least one of the frame and the deck. The system includes an upright lifting component case. The frame of the platform is substantially perpendicular to the upright lifting component case. The system includes lifting components that are at least partially disposed in the upright lifting component case and attached to the platform. The lifting components are operable to vertically move the frame between a top and a bottom of the upright lifting component case. The system includes an electrical power source operable to provide electrical power to at least a portion of the lifting components.Type: GrantFiled: October 11, 2016Date of Patent: September 17, 2019Assignee: EVERLAST CLIMBING INDUSTRIES, INC.Inventors: Ben Tiffin, Shane Clagett, Timothy Sudeith

Publication number: 20050192160Abstract: A safety mat securement assembly for providing open and a closed position for a climbing wall assembly using a safety mat. The safety mat securement assembly utilizes a plurality of security hand hold members each having latching means and a safety mat having a plurality of bottom securement members, top and side loop members. The security hand hold members may be used as hand holds on the climbing wall assembly and may have a locking structure. The bottom securement members function to hold the safety mat to the bottom of a climbing wall assembly during both open and closed positions of the safety mat. The mat securement assembly is opened or unlocked by loosening the latching means, removing security mat top loop members from the hand hold, and placing the mats on the floor along the base of the climbing wall. When in closed or locked position, the security mats may contain a printed message communicating that the climbing wall is closed and climbing should not take place.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 18, 2005Publication date: September 1, 2005Inventors: Timothy Sudeith, Lyle Helke, Jeremy Mariette
