  • Patent number: 4652015
Abstract: Security devices in the form of metalized plastic films are incorporated within a security paper such as banknotes and other valuable documents during the papermaking process for viewing solely by means of transmitted light. The devices comprise printing of extreme fine line clarity and high opacity such that legibility is possible by means of transmitted light while remaining completely indiscernable under reflected light.

  • Patent number: 4552617
Abstract: Security features for authentification of currency paper are incorporated within the paper during the paper making process. Various codes are incorporated within the paper for viewing by means of transmitted light. In one embodiment the identifying indicia is microprinted on thin strips of a carrier material which dissolves during the dewatering and drying stage of the paper making process. The microprinted indicia remains intact and is readable by means of transmitted light yet is neither legible nor reproductible with reflected light.

  • Patent number: 4534398
Abstract: This invention relates to a security paper document incorporating counterfeit deterrent, optical variable devices that display their optically active properties in reflectance when there are changes in the angle of incodent light with respect to the eye of the viewer. The devices are applied by means of a carrier paper and a base web format during the papermaking process. An embedment roll presses the device within the base web while the base web fibers are unconsolidated and pliable.
