  • Publication number: 20190045005
Abstract: A method for replicating data to one or more distributed network nodes of a network is proposed. A movement of a moving entity having associated data stored on a first node of the network is estimated. The moving entity is physically moving between nodes of the network. According to the method, at least a second node of the network depending on the estimated movement is chosen. The method contains replicating the associated data of the first node to the second node or a group of nodes and contains managing how data is stored at those nodes based on the moving entity.

  • Publication number: 20190004922
Abstract: A method for monitoring health of processes includes a compute device having a performance monitoring parameter manager and an analytics engine. The compute device accesses performance monitoring parameters associated with a monitored process of the compute device. The compute device samples one or more hardware counters associated with the monitored process and applies a performance monitor filter to the sampled one or more hardware counters to generate hardware counter values. The compute device performs a process fault check on the monitored process based on the hardware counter values and the performance monitoring parameters.

  • Publication number: 20180357099
Abstract: Particular embodiments described herein provide for a network element that can be configured to determine a pre-execution performance test, where the pre-execution performance test is at least partially based on requirements for a process to be executed, cause the pre-execution performance test to be executed on a platform before the process is executed on the platform, where the platform is a dynamically allocated group of resources, analyze results of the pre-execution performance test, and cause the process to be executed on the platform if the results of the pre-execution performance test satisfy a condition. In an example, the process is a virtual network function.

  • Publication number: 20180285563
Abstract: Examples include techniques for a service assurance using fingerprints associated with execution of virtualized applications. Examples include receiving information for computing events gathered while a virtual machine executes one or more applications to process a workload for a virtual network function over a period of time. • Publication number: 20170289152
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods may provide for generating, in response to a decrease in trustworthiness with respect to a controller, a notification message and generating a message authentication code (MAC) based on the notification message and one or more locally stored keys. Additionally, the notification message and the MAC may be sent to the controller, wherein the notification message is directed to one or more peers in a network associated with the controller. In one example, the notification message includes one or more of an indication that the controller is compromised or an indication that the controller is suspected to be compromised.

  • Publication number: 20170171218
Abstract: Systems and methods may provide for receiving runtime input from one or more unlock interfaces of a device and selecting a level of access with regard to the device from a plurality of levels of access based on the runtime input. The selected level of access may have an associated security policy, wherein an authentication of the runtime input may be conducted based on the associated security policy. In one example, one or more cryptographic keys are used to place the device in an unlocked state with regard to the selected level of access if the authentication is successful. If the authentication is unsuccessful, on the other hand, the device may be maintained in a locked state with regard to the selected level of access.

  • Patent number: 9160815
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to a system and method for translating between virtual machines. A network adaptor can be configured to be communicatively coupled to a server, the server comprising a first virtual machine having a first format, the network adaptor to receive input from the server. A translator can be configured to identify, from the input from the server, the first format of the first virtual machine and generate an output, compatible with a second format of a second virtual machine, based on the input from the server, the second format being incompatible with the first format.

  • Publication number: 20150213284
Abstract: Methods and systems that allow a user to see the people or groups who have access to files that are maintained by a plurality of cloud content sharing services. In particular, the user may see what specific party has access to each particular file or directory, regardless of multiple cloud content sharing services involved. Moreover, a user interface and exposed application program interface allows the user to manipulate the permissions, e.g., granting access, to another person or group, to a file or directory. The user interface may also allow the user to terminate access to the file or directory for a person or group. The user's action to change a permission may be effected independently of the particular cloud content sharing service.

  • Publication number: 20140089481
Abstract: Generally, this disclosure provides methods, systems and devices for dynamic determination of connectivity to a device, for example device brokering, based on a context state of the device. The method may include maintaining a user policy database configured to store connectivity rules, the connectivity rules associated with the user and one or more of the user devices; logging registration data received from the user device, the registration data indicating a context state associated with the user device; receiving a request from a remote party to connect to the user; and selecting one or more of the user devices for the connection to the remote party, the selection based on the context state and the user policy connectivity rules.

  • Publication number: 20140006589
Abstract: An initiator device may transmit a message to a network tester requesting initiation of testing of a network connection between the initiator device and a remote entity. The network tester may perform testing including the transmission of test information to, and the reception of test information from, the initiator device and the remote entity. The network tester may monitor the performance of the network connection during testing, and based on the performance may determine capability information. The capability information may then be provided to at least the initiator device. The initiator device may use the performance information to notify the user of the initiator device as to whether capabilities are supported by the network connection and/or to notify about other available network connections, to suggest a network connection, etc. The initiator device may also provide the capability information to applications, which may utilize the capability information in configuring operation, etc.
