    Abstract: A folding learning block may generally comprise four structure panels, each supported by a structure wire and coupled together to form four lateral sides of a cube. Two collapsable panels may be coupled to the structure panels to form a cube. For example, a top panel may be coupled to the four lateral panels to form a top side of the cube, and a bottom panel may be coupled to the four lateral panels to form a bottom side of the cube. The bottom panel may have a hole. The top panel and the bottom panel may be collapsable while the structure wire maintains a shape of the four lateral panels.

    Abstract: Methods of displaying and placing orders for financial instruments. Financial market information is displayed on a screen controlled by a processor. The display includes a plurality of bid columns, a plurality of ask columns, and a price column acting as an axis for the bid and ask columns. Values in the columns are updated as the state of the financial market changes. The values in the columns automatically re-center if either one of the highest bid price, or lowest ask price scrolls off the screen. Placing an order includes presetting order parameters, selecting a price at which to place the order, indicating the price at which to the place the order by indicating a cell associated with a price in a column of a computer display through the use of a computer input device.

    Abstract: High compression rate codecs in gateways servicing Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Voice Band Data (VBD) calls distort modem/fax Answer Back Tones (e.g., 2100 Hz), which may lead to signal distortion and call hang-ups. To prevent such occurrences, a method or corresponding apparatus forces originating and terminating gateways to stay in a low complexity non-voice compression codec (e.g., ITU G.711) after prenegotiating a high complexity, voice compression codec (e.g., G.729 or G.726) during a short beginning period of a voice call. The low complexity codec avoids distorted answer back tone leakage associated with previous solutions that use a notch filter to block the leakage, thereby significantly improving the success rate of a VBD call by completely eliminating modem answer back tone distortion caused by high complexity codecs that use voice compression and by completely eliminating use of the notch filter.

    Abstract: A method, or corresponding apparatus, assumes a call is a Voice Band Data (VBD) call. The method disables a local echo canceller and transmits a tone that disables distal echo canceller(s) along a communications path across which the call is communicated. After disabling the echo cancellers, the echo cancellers are allowed to operate in a typical manner, such as according to ITU standards, after the call is established, including remaining disabled if the call is a Voice Band Data call and being automatically enabled if the call is or becomes a voice call. The method or apparatus is particularly useful in networks having Point of Service (POS) devices that have modems that do not send out a 2100 Hz tone to disable echo cancelling in the communications path. In one embodiment, the method or corresponding apparatus is deployed in a gateway.

    Abstract: The invention relates to energy storage devices such as capacitors and supercapacitors and non-aqueous solvent systems suitable for use as an electrolyte solvent therein. The solvent system has at least one low boiling component (preferably a nitrile, eg acetonitrile) at least one high boiling component compatible with said low boiling component (preferably lactones, eg ?-butyrolactone and/or organic carbonates eg ethylene carbonate or propylene carbonate); and wherein the components are selected in an amount such that said non-aqueous solvent system does not boil at the boiling point of the low viscosity solvent alone but has a boiling point greater than said low viscosity solvent alone.
