Abstract: A one piece fixed attachment for a portable power saw which replaces the upper handle on a power saw with a handle having a multiple pronged, u-shaped forward extension capable of supporting a saw vertically on end with its trigger handle in an upward position. When attached to a power saw, the saw can be hung over the top edge of rafters, joists, and sawhorses. It can also be used to hang a saw on a variety of level or pitched dimensional and “I beam” shaped materials securely. It is secured to the saw housing by screw fasteners that line up with threaded screw holes in the saw body housing and sawblade housing.

Abstract: A system for automatically completing fields in online forms, such as login forms and new user registration forms, which employs a Master Cookie File containing sets of records associated with the user, his or her accounts or web sites, and registered values associated with form tags (e.g. username, password, address, email, telephone, etc.). When the user encounters another form, the MCF is automatically searched for matching values and form tags, primarily from the same account or web site, or alternatively from other accounts or sites. A flowing pop-up menu is displayed nearby the form fields from which the user can select values to automatically complete the form. Automatic account information updating, value expiration management, mapping of favorite values, and sharing of values are optional, enhanced functions of the invention.

Abstract: Peer-to-peer communications between vehicles providing warning of a collision or near-collision event and/or collision avoidance is controlled by otherwise underutilized air bag deployment processors in respective vehicles. Direction of reception of warning signals is used to selectively control relaying of warning signals at differentiated warning levels, collision avoidance actions and/or in-vehicle warning alarms to operators of vehicles in the vicinity of an event.

Abstract: Changes in wireless service user behavior are encouraged and produced to shape utilization patterns among cells within a rate plan region by using shaping rules which define potential discounts from a standard charge rate under certain cell-specific utilization conditions, analyzing the shaping rules and utilization statistics of a cell upon service initiation, generating a discount from the standard rate for underutilized cells. The user is notified of these discount opportunities using text messages, icons, or other means. Over time, the users learn that at certain places and times, significant discounts are offered, and thus changes their behavior to take advantage of those discounts, thereby shaping traffic in a manner desired by the service provider.

Abstract: In the method of the present invention, a customer of a service provider would be placed in hold while waiting to speak to a customer service representative. The method and system of the invention would recognize the telephone number of the caller using a “caller ID” system. If this call is the first time the caller has ever called, the caller would be presented with an audible listing of listening choices that would include but not be limited to the latest news, the weather (of the caller's location), financial headlines, or a selection of music stations (via cable radio, for example). The caller would then speak or type his/her preference into the keypad and the selection would be played. If the caller does not like the selection, the caller can then speak another selection or type the new selection as many times as the caller prefers. The caller selection is recorded in a caller preference database.

Abstract: The present invention provides a computer-implemented method, system, tool, and program product for sending a customized reply to an instant message. Specifically, under the present invention, a customized message may be provided for a specific instant messaging contact/availability status combination. When the availability status is selected and a message is received from the instant messaging contact, the customized message is automatically sent to the messaging contact. The invention may also be integrated into a calendaring application to determine, for example, whether the message recipient is in a meeting and, if so, to automatically send a reply that gives an estimated ending time for the meeting.

Abstract: A method for determining storage requirements includes receiving a plurality of files to be stored, classifying the plurality of files based on business value, classifying the plurality of files based on contractual obligations, classifying the plurality of files based on empirical characteristics, and determining a storage medium based on the classified business value, classified contractual obligation, and classified empirical characteristics. The method further includes determining storage requirements based on the determined storage mediums.

Abstract: A dynamic ‘vehicle grid’ system provides the ability for drivers to be automatically warned to the conditions of other vehicles in the vicinity. In this grid system, a motor vehicle would be equipped with a transmitter, receiver, computer and a selection of sensors. Other adjacent vehicles are also contain the same of equipment for transmitting and receiving signals. When the sensors in a vehicle detect a change such as hard braking (rapid deceleration) or very slow speed (blockages), it automatically sends this information via the transmitter over a wireless communication channel to any other receivers in the vicinity.

Abstract: An automated traffic control system provides real time alternative traffic flow solutions to address traffic congestion on a roadway. A process will pick routes to scan for real-time statistics on the traffic conditions and calculate an average vehicle speed (AVS) for that route, road, highway, etc. If the AVS drops below a historical threshold, a decision matrix is created, whereby all the real-time data is compared with historical data and provides an ideal or best alternative route for “route X”. The operator is provided this information within seconds and is allowed to make a decision to “accept pr decline” the proposed changes in routes. If the proposed changes are accepted, the changes begin to occur automatically such as but not limited to updating electronic signage, changing traffic control signals (all green to keep traffic moving), moving electronic barriers, etc.

Abstract: The present invention is method and system for delivering road sign content information to a mobile computing device for display to the driver of a vehicle. The system consists of a wireless communication network in communication with a mobile computing device operationally coupled to a dashboard display device or a vehicle head's up display device. The wireless communication network further comprises a plurality of meshed network sign transmitting devices placed along predetermined intervals along the highway. Each sign-transmitting device is capable of transmitting road sign content information to the mobile computing device for display to the driver.

Abstract: A print compression method and system reduces the amount of space required to print a document such that less paper is used during the printing of a document. A user defines criteria, which is used to perform document compression. However, the document compression only applies to the form of document being printed. This compression does not affect the document being edited.

Abstract: A method of archiving email that includes receiving an email on an email server, determining whether to archive the email based upon received archive control commands and then archiving the a copy of the email in native format in a pre-designated file system on the email server. The method further comprises deleting the email from the mailbox and using a store function to trigger backup program, which moves the file from the pre-designated file system onto the backup server.

Abstract: An apparatus, system and method of providing auto-dimming and state transition signal functionality to a telephone system are provided. Generally, when the telephone system is in use, it will have an illuminated screen that may distract others. Because of this, when the telephone system is entering a state that does not require monitoring by the user, the illuminated screen may dim down to decrease the likelihood of distraction by others. However, since the user may want to know when the telephone system is no longer in that state, the telephone system may alert the user when it has transitioned out of that state.

Abstract: A method, system and program of generating a chronicle of search terms used in a network environment of a community are provided. A term is received from a user in a current search. The term is matched in a search chronicle, wherein the search chronicle is a database comprising a plurality of search terms associated with a search originator. The search chronicle results are then provided to the user.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and media to improve employee productivity using radio frequency identification (RFID) are disclosed. Embodiments comprise a method of transmitting information from RFID tags, receiving the information in an RFID tag reader, analyzing the information to select a number of employees to work in a work area, and dispatching one or more employees to or from the work area according to the selected number of employees. Some embodiments select employees with certain skills, based on the RFID tag information. In other embodiments, an RFID tag reader monitors the movement of employees to ensure that they are moving according to the dispatch and potentially dispatching alternate employees. Some embodiments involve reading information from RFID tags attached to goods, whereas other embodiments involve reading information from RFID tags in cards carried by employees and customers, and RFID tags fastened to shopping carts and shopping baskets.

Abstract: Systems, methods and media for storing information in a common information store of a global file storage system are disclosed. Embodiments may include a common information store including a communications module to send and receive information to and from one or more servers in the global file storage system and a pattern database to store a plurality of subfiles for the global file storage system, where each subfile may include an indication of a recognizable pattern. The common information store may also include a common information store manager to analyze newly stored files and to reconstruct stored files of the global file storage system. In a further embodiment, the common information store manager may further comprise a pattern analyzer sub-module to analyze a file for recognizable patterns and to compare the recognizable patterns to the subfiles stored in the pattern database.
