  • Patent number: 9345637
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to arrangements for attaching an RFID tag to a liquid container, and particularly to a blood components container. The RFID tag may be inserted in an enclosure, such as peel tab, or in a sealed cup attached to a container port. The tag could alternately be embedded in a molded plug or component attached to a port. The RFID antenna could be painted or stamped on the surface of the container. Or the tag could be inserted into the container to float freely in the liquid components. The RFID source may be secured around the neck of a rigid or semi-rigid container, attached with a tether or attached to a connector assembled in association with a blood component or other fluid flow path.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 13, 2014
Date of Patent: May 24, 2016
    Assignee: Fenwal, Inc.
Inventors: Christine Larson, Bryan Blickhan, Carlos Calderon, Daniel Lynn, Senan Ozbag, W. Timothy Watts, Daryl R. Calhoun

  • Patent number: 8128611
Abstract: A pre-assembled medical fluid flow system and method of making same are disclosed. The system includes a first sterilized fluid flow system component, a second sterilized fluid flow system component and a flow path for providing fluid communication therebetween. The flow path includes an isolated portion. An openable closure isolates the isolated portion from the first sterilized fluid system component, and a microorganism filter is disposed between and isolates the isolated portion of the flow path and the second sterilized fluid flow system component. Therefore, fluid from the isolated portion of the flow path must flow through the microorganism filter to reach the second sterilized fluid flow system component.

  • Publication number: 20100084332
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a blood filter assembly is provided that includes the steps of providing a first housing sheet and a second housing sheet. The method includes locating and sealing at least one port onto each of the first and second housing sheets. The method includes locating the filtration medium between the first housing sheet and the second housing sheet. The method includes applying heat and pressure to form at least one seal that commingles the first and second housing sheets along with the filtration medium, wherein the periphery of the seal commingles only the first and second housing sheets.

  • Publication number: 20070130684
Abstract: An improved, uniquely configured, self-contained, trailered mobile shower facility for use at large attendance events, such as concerts, races, fairs or exhibitions, with 11 separate and private coined operated, timed showering units, each shower unit having a changing area and a shower stall separated by an interior access partition, and each accessible by an exterior access door. The queue line for each showering unit would be directly in front of the exterior access door, thus providing users with the availability of choosing similar length lines as their friends, or short lines for quickly accessing the showers. The trailered mobile shower facility also has its own separate water heater, generator, air conditioning unit, fuel tank and pressure tank, thus being a one-stop showering facility for a great number of people.

  • Patent number: 7096150
Abstract: A method and apparatus 100 for correcting tire nonuniformity is disclosed. The invention is particularly suited for correcting tread runout and connicity problems for large off-road tires. Multiple measurements are taken in multiple circumferentially spaced planes which enable data to be fed into a computer which predicts an optimal profile to correct tire non-uniformities using preset rules. A virtual template directs correction of the tire profile.

  • Patent number: 6665707
Abstract: The mechanisms of the present invention model real life by providing subconversations through several different, yet complimentary, features. One feature is referred to as conversation separation. When enabled by a user, conversation separation is used to create subconversations by identifying groups of users that are speaking with one another. Another user configurable feature is referred to as distance recognition. Distance recognition creates subconversations by considering the logical distance between users within a groupware object. A feature that is related to distance recognition is referred to as “priority conversation.” If enabled, priority conversation maintains a user within a subconversation as the user moves away from the location of the other users so long as the user that is moving away continues to participate in the subconversation.
