  • Publication number: 20200176105
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include devices, systems, and methods for managing an emergency care event using a computing device. Simplified and touch-enabled user interface elements allow a wide variety of events to be selected and quickly entered into an event record. In some embodiments, care guidelines are programmed into the computing device, and are used by the computing device to guide the care team through the steps for various actions to ensure that adherence to the care guidelines is as close as possible. In some embodiments, timers for care events are automatically tracked by the computing device, and alerts are automatically generated in order to further increase compliance with time-based care guidelines.

  • Patent number: 10645646
Abstract: A communication system and method for operating or evaluating the communication system includes powering a plurality of base stations each operating in at least a sleep mode and an active mode, wherein the base station operates in the sleep mode with less power consumption than in the active mode; analyzing an overall power consumption for powering the plurality of base stations with respect to a grade of service of the communication system; and switching at least one of the plurality of base stations to operate between the sleep mode and the active mode based on a result associated with the overall power consumption and/or the grade of service. Each of the plurality of base stations in sleep mode is further arranged to pass a service request to a nearby base station in the plurality of base stations such that the service request is handled by the respective nearby base station.

  • Patent number: 10609443
Abstract: Methods, apparatus and systems for processing and tagging at least a portion of a video with metadata are provided herein. In some embodiments, a method for processing and tagging at least a portion of a video with metadata includes extracting a plurality of frames from the video, generating a fingerprint for each frame of the plurality of frames, or for a set of frames of the plurality of frames, determining contextual data within at least one frame or set of frames, associating the generated fingerprint of each frame or set of frames with the determined contextual data, and storing the association of the fingerprint of each frame or set of frames and the contextual data.

  • Patent number: 8683262
Abstract: Certain example embodiments provide a single pass, reverse chronological approach to write-ahead log recovery, enabling space- and time-efficient the recovery of stored data from large write-ahead logs to a transient storage medium. The techniques described herein can in certain instances enable fast and efficient recovery, even in scenarios where at the time of a failure requiring such a recovery the live log is potentially multiple terabytes or larger in size. Certain example embodiments make use of a filtering mechanism (e.g., involving potentially stateful delete, skip, and/or transaction filters), a key/value property (allowing a live set of data, once identified, to be applied in any arbitrary order), etc. A simplified environment with a small closed set of mutative operations allows for the performing of recovery backwards by scanning the log from the most recent written record backwards in time (and, in other words, finishing with the oldest record).

  • Publication number: 20120255857
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for reducing hardened chemical salts in soil and also for improving water quality in irrigating water. The method comprises an electrolysis system in contact with soil to reduce hardened chemical salts. The system also can reduce pest's activity in water through electrolysis and the release of metal ions. The treated water is used further to loosen soil, inhibit pest and disease outbreak in crop field, and improve productivity.
