  • Patent number: 11947780
Abstract: A method at an electronic device with a display includes: displaying a user interface having a first region and a second region; receiving, and displaying in the first region of the user interface, a live video stream of a physical environment captured by a remote video camera; displaying, in the second region, a timeline corresponding to a timespan for a first portion of a duration during which the live video stream may have been recorded; in response to receiving a user interaction to move the timespan to a second portion of the duration, transitioning the displayed timeline to a new timeline that corresponds to the timespan for the second portion, and while transitioning, displaying, in the first region, a subset of video frames representing the first and/or second portion of the duration.

  • Publication number: 20240096127
Abstract: Various embodiments of an optical construction and an electronic device that includes such optical construction are disclosed. The optical construction includes a lens film having an outermost structured first major surface and an opposing outermost substantially planar second major surface. The structured first major surface includes a plurality of microlenses. The optical construction further includes a mask disposed adjacent to the second major surface of the lens film, where the mask includes a polymeric layer, a nanoparticle layer, and plurality of laser-ablated openings disposed through the mask. The openings are aligned to the microlenses in a one-to-one correspondence.

  • Publication number: 20240085608
Abstract: Optical films are disclosed that include a plurality of interference layers. Each interference layer reflects or transmits light primarily by optical interference. The total number of the interference layers is less than about 1000. For a substantially normally incident light in a predetermined wavelength range, the plurality of interference layers has an average optical transmittance greater than about 85% for a first polarization state, an average optical reflectance greater than about 80% for an orthogonal second polarization state, and an average optical transmittance less than about 0.2% for the second polarization state.

  • Publication number: 20230051565
Abstract: A method for determining hard example sensor data inputs for training a task neural network is described. The task neural network is configured to receive a sensor data input and to generate a respective output for the sensor data input to perform a machine learning task. The method includes: receiving one or more sensor data inputs depicting a same scene of an environment, wherein the one or more sensor data inputs are taken during a predetermined time period; generating a plurality of predictions about a characteristic of an object of the scene; determining a level of inconsistency between the plurality of predictions; determining that the level of inconsistency exceeds a threshold level; and in response to the determining that the level of inconsistency exceeds a threshold level, determining that the one or more sensor data inputs comprise a hard example sensor data input.

  • Publication number: 20210354723
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods for controlling a first vehicle having an autonomous driving mode. In one instance, sensor data generated by one or more sensors of the first vehicle may be received. A splash and characteristics of the splash may be detected from the sensor data using a classifier. A severity of a puddle may be determined based on the characteristics of the splash and a speed of a second vehicle that caused the splash. The first vehicle may be controlled based on the severity. In another instance, a location of a puddle relative to a tire of a second vehicle is estimated using sensor data generated by one or more sensors of the first vehicle. A severity of the puddle may be determined based on the estimated location. The first vehicle may be controlled based on the severity.
