    Abstract: Troffer lighting systems can include a lighting panel having one or more light sources and one or more wing portions coupled to the lighting panel. The wing portions can be configured as reflectors to reflect light emitted by the one or more light sources. The wing portions (or reflectors) can be rotatably and/or hingedly coupled to the lighting panel. The coupled wing portions can be movable between a closed and opened position relative to the lighting panel. The closed position reduces the overall size of the troffer lighting system compared to the opened position, and the system is operable while in the opened position. Method of installing a troffer lighting systems is also included.

    Abstract: An LED light bulb has a lamp base for a lamp socket, a heat sink, and a globe. Within the globe on the heat sink is a printed circuit board having tabs or legs projecting from the circuit board. The tabs or legs have one or more LEDs mounted thereon and are angled relative to the circuit board so as to be directed away from the axis of the light bulb. the circuit board may either be ring-shaped with inwardly extending tabs, or may have outwardly extending tabs. Methods of making such LED light bulb and methods of distributing light from the LED light bulb, which involves directing light output by a plurality of LEDs in a plurality of radially outward directions relative to an axis of the light bulb, are also disclosed herein.

    Abstract: An LED lighting device comprises: a base having a socket connector; a housing comprising a primary heat sink, the housing being coupled to the base and having an upper annular rim; a plate having a periphery, at least the periphery of the plate being thermally coupled to the upper annular rim of the housing; at least one LED lighting source, the at least one LED lighting source being thermally coupled to the plate; a globe having a body comprising an outer surface with a light transmittable surface configured to transmit light from the LED lighting source to outside the lighting device; and a secondary heat sink thermally coupled to the plate and the housing, and comprising heat conductors arranged to take the shape of the globe. The housing, plate and secondary heat sink cooperate to conduct heat from the at least one LED lighting source to the surrounding environment.
