    Abstract: Tape, such as masking tape, that is used during the painting of automobiles to mark the boundaries of various areas on the vehicle, is fed from a device that automatically folds the edges of the tape over onto the remaining portion of the tape. The tape thus has areas adjacent to the edges that do not adhere to the substrate and thus permits paint to move under the tape at such defined areas wherein no tape line will be produced during the painting process.
