    Abstract: A method, system, and medium are provided to temporally bias items included in a search results webpage. The items include navigational links, search results, advertisements, or any other content or items included in a search results webpage. User engagement with the items via the search-engine results page and/or other webpages is tracked. A user-engagement score and an age of the items are determined. A temporal-bias factor is calculated using a decay function that increases in intensity with the age of the items. A rank score is calculated for each item based on the user-engagement score and the temporal-bias factor—the temporal-bias factor decreasing the rank score as a function of the age of the items. The items are ranked based at least in part on the rank score and one or more of the items are chosen for presentation in a search-engine results page.

    Abstract: A memory storage system includes multiple flash memory storage devices, multiple transmission interfaces and a central control device. The central control device has a cache and respectively coupled to the flash memory storage devices through the transmission interfaces. The central control device is for maintaining a block map table (BMT) to record a mapping relationship between multiple logical blocks and the physical blocks of the flash memory storage devices and the BMT is temporarily stored in the cache. In addition, the central control device uses the communication commands to access the physical blocks of the flash memory storage devices, in which the communication commands are transmitted to multiple controllers in the flash memory storage devices through the transmission interfaces and the controllers access the physical blocks according to communication commands. In this way, the system can effectively manage multiple flash memory storage devices.

The outer frame for the FPD includes a front frame, a support frame, and an elastic pad. The support frame is disposed opposite to the front frame and includes a ridge which protrudes upon it; two sides of the elastic pad are joined to the front frame and the support frame respectively so that the ridge is pressed into it. This design causes tighter joining between different components of a frame, so as to prevent dust from invading FPD modules.

The battery cover has an oblique rib arranged corresponding to in the oblique engage surface. One end of the oblique rib near the first end is elevated higher than the other end of the oblique rib near the second end. The oblique rib will interfere with the oblique engage surface for sealing the battery compartment when the battery cover is pushed towards one end of the battery compartment near the first end.

The cooking assembly keeps heating energy but takes away the cooking fumes and smells from the cooking platen via a consistent and recurring operation to clarify the air. The recurring air curtain avoids wasting air conditioning energy and prevents from leaking the air polluted by fumes out, which allows the cooking assembly to omit an extra outdoor discharging pipe but attain a fresh and tranquil dining atmosphere, and decrease the energy consumption of the facility for being friendly to the environment.

The photosensitizing layer is disposed on an outer surface of the film for receiving the light to generate a first object, and the film separates the photosensitizing layer and the first fluid. The film and the photosensitizing layer of the present invention can greatly reduce the needed dosage of the photosensitizer while maintaining the effective concentration of the photosensitizer around tumor cells.

    Abstract: Entropy based image segmentation determines entropy values for pixels in an image based on intensity or edge orientation. One or more threshold values are determined as a fraction of the entropy distribution over the image. For example, high and/or low thresholds may be generated to identify regions in the image associated with trees or sky, respectively. The entropy values are compared to the threshold(s) from which regions within the image can be segmented. Intensity based entropy has no structural information, and thus, proximity based clustering and pruning of the entropy points is performed. A mask may be applied to the segmented regions to remove the regions from the image, which is useful in, e.g., objection recognition processes. Additionally, separate buildings may be identified and segmented using edge orientation entropy with clustering and pruning.
