    Abstract: A card edge connector (100) for receiving a memory card (200) includes an insulative housing (1) and a number of terminals (2) retained therein. The insulative housing (1) includes an elongated base (10) extending along a longitudinal direction thereof and a pair of tower section (18) extending upwardly from opposite ends of the base (10). The base (10) defines a receiving slot (10) for receiving the memory card (200) and two rows of contact receiving channels (111) communicated with the slot (10). Each tower section (18) includes a pair of opposed arms (13) and a cavity (15) located therebetween. The arm (13) has a cantilever type resilient finger (132) formed from an inner wall of the arm (13) and extending downwardly for sandwiching the memory card (200), and a locking projection (131) at an upper portion thereof to engage with a notch (203) of the memory card (200).

    Abstract: A card edge connector (100) for receiving a module (200), includes an insulative housing (1) having a receiving slot (12) for receiving the module and a pair of arm portions (10) located at opposite ends thereof. Each arm portion has a pair of side walls (15) and a resilient arm (16) with a retaining embossment (162) for locking the module. The side walls are integrally formed on the insulative housing and include a projection (157). A number of terminals (2) are mounted on said insulative housing and extend into the receiving slot thereof. A pair of latches (3) are attached to the arm portions and move with the resilient arms. Each latch includes a base (31) and a stopping plate (37) extending from the base. The stopping plates engage with said projections of the side walls thereby open said resilient arms when the module detaches from the card edge connector.

The arm portion includes a pair of side walls (160) with a retaining slot (168) formed therebetween for receiving a side edge of the module and a latch (17) located between the side walls and integrally extending upwardly from the insulative housing. The latch has a resilient arm (171) defining a retaining embossment (173) for latching the module and a gripping portion (172) for rotating the resilient arm. A number of terminals (2) are mounted on the insulative housing and extend into the central slot for electrical connection to the module.
