    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for identifying a greater risk for developing bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) of a preterm infant. The method comprises obtaining a genomic DNA sample from the preterm infant's mother, genotyping rs2280789 SNP in the RANTES gene, and determining the preterm infant as being at risk of developing BPD if the genotype of the rs2280789 SNP is CC.
