  • Patent number: 11590831
Abstract: A device and a method for controlling a shading system of vehicle windows. A camera system detects image data of the head of a driver. The image data is evaluated to determine a gaze direction of the driver either as a function of a current pose of the head or body position of the driver ascertained based on the image data or as a function of eye positions of the driver determined based on image data. The shading system is controlled when the determined current gaze direction is looking in an interior rear view mirror, in the direction of the rear window, in the direction of one of the side windows, a reverse gear of the vehicle is set/activated, and the vehicle is in operation/activated. The control involves suspending or switching off a current shading/darkening of the rear window or of the side window in the gaze direction of the driver.

  • Publication number: 20180147922
Abstract: A method for controlling a sunroof of a motor vehicle that is able to be electrically adjusted by a touch-sensitive touchpad is disclosed. The sunroof is adjusted into a closed position by a first swiping movement across the touchpad. The sunroof is adjusted into an open position by a second swiping movement opposite to the first across the touchpad. The sunroof is specifically controlled depending on a position or movement of the sunroof which is caused by tapping the touchpad. The tapping the touchpad is only registered by a movement of the touchpad that is caused by tapping. A sunroof device and a motor vehicle for implementing such a method are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9908438
Abstract: An operating device for operating an adjustable seat of a motor vehicle includes a carrier, an operating element having a surface, and at least one holding element coupling the operating element to the carrier at a bearing position on the carrier. The operating device also includes a sensor configured to detect a size of a force acting on the operating element surface during an operating input and to generate a signal corresponding to the size of the detected force. The sensor is integrated into the bearing position on the carrier. The operating device further includes seat adjuster configured to adjust the adjustable seat based on the size of the detected force.

  • Patent number: 9440537
Abstract: A method to control functions displayed on a display unit of a vehicle uses gestures carried out in three-dimensional space. When a first gesture carried out in three-dimensional space is detected it is determined whether the detected first gesture is allocated to an activation of an operation of a function. If it is determined that the detected first gesture is the gesture allocated to the activation of the operation of the function, then the function is activated. Next a second gesture carried out in three-dimensional space is detected and it is determined whether the detected second gesture is a gesture allocated to the operation of the function. If it is determined that the detected second gesture is the gesture allocated to the operation of the function then the operation of the function is performed.

  • Publication number: 20160229312
Abstract: An operating device to operate an adjustable seat of a motor vehicle having a carrier includes an operating element having a first surface directed towards an outer surface of the carrier, a second surface and at least one third surface adjacent to the first surface and the second surface. The operating device also includes a sensor for detecting a size of a force acting on the at least one third surface during the operating input and to generate a signal corresponding to the size of the detected force. The operating device also includes an evaluation device for generating a control signal by processing the signal corresponding to the size of the detected force, and an adjustment device to adjust the adjustable seat on the basis of the control signal.

Next, a second a second gesture carried out in three-dimensional space is detected using the image-based detection procedure and it is determined whether the detected second gesture is a gesture allocated to the operation of the function. If it is determined that the second gesture has been detected, an operation of the function is performed.

  • Patent number: 8886414
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for detecting motion for the sensor controlled activation of an operating device for at least one motor vehicle equipment item having at least two capacitive sensors with overlapping detection zones, which provide signals to a control device to control the equipment item. The method comprises the determination of at least one direction of the operating motion within the overlapping detection zones as a valid motion direction for actuating the vehicle equipment item.

  • Publication number: 20140005895
Abstract: A method for detecting motion for sensor-controlled activation of an operating device involves detecting a direction of the operating motion within the overlapping detection areas as a valid motion direction for actuating the vehicle equipment item. A motion through the detection areas of two sensors is detected and a total duration of the motion through the detection areas is determined. An overlap duration of the motion in an overlapping area of the overlapping detection areas is determined. A quotient from the overlap duration and the total duration is calculated and compared with a predetermined threshold separating a valid area from an invalid area. The motion is recognized as an operating motion having a valid motion direction if the quotient is in the valid area.
