Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of immunomodifying agents to effect change in the T helper-type 1 (TH1) or T helper-type 2 (TH2) arms of the immune response and thereby treat TH1 or TH2 mediated diseases. In particular, the present invention relates to a method of altering a specific immune response in an individual comprising: i). administering to an individual in need thereof an effective amount of an antigen in immunotherapeutic form, wherein said immune response is down regulated; and ii). subsequently administering to the individual an effective amount of an immunomodifying agent comprising said antigen in immunogenic form.
