Abstract: One general aspect includes a method of manufacturing a handle, the method including: providing a core element; providing a mold; strategically positioning the core element within the mold such that a formable material can be injected into the mold (when in a molten state) to operatively encapsulate the core element and such that the core element remains stationary while being operatively encapsulated by the formable material; and injecting the formable material (when in the molten state) into the mold to operatively encapsulate the core element and be formed, by the mold, into a handle configured to be joined to a window support pillar of a vehicle interior.

Abstract: The invention concerns an access plate for use in a vehicle to cover an aperture in an engine ring, where the engine ring and an engine cover seal against each other. The access plate may include a main body portion, made of a first material having a first durometer, extending across the aperture, and defining a first portion of an outer surface that sealingly engages with the second component; and a seal, made of a second lower durometer material, wherein the seal portion is integral with the main body portion, and the seal portion includes an underside surface in opposed relation to the outer surface that sealingly engages with first component. The access plate may include snap clips, to secure the plate to the engine ring, locating pins to locate the access plate on the ring, and tapered end features to assure a good seal against the engine cover.

Abstract: An enclosure for housing people in the event of a serious air quality degradation is provided. A pressurized enclosure, either permanent or temporary, includes an air supply system for filtering and subsequently supplying clean air to the interior of the enclosure. The structure will be deployable and/or activated from a remote control station or from the protective structure itself. Life support elements are stored in the enclosure for use as needed.
