    Abstract: An A method for fabricating an integrated circuit (IC) comprising a substrate, a first device, a second device, and a trench in the substrate is described herein. The trench is self-aligned between the first and second devices and comprises a first portion filled with a dielectric material and a second portion filled with a conductive material. The self-aligned placement of the trench provides electrical isolation between the first and second devices and allows for higher packing density without negatively affecting the operation of closely spaced devices in a high density IC.

    Abstract: A single-wavelength light path is selected between a source access node and a destination access node of a wavelength-division multiplexed optical network, including selecting an illuminated wavelength of the light path and selecting a start time and duration for a data transfer that would not interfere with other data transfers. If no start time/wavelength combination is available with duration sufficient to transport the data, an additional wavelength is automatically selected, based on modeling, that would not impair traffic being carried by other wavelengths in the network, and without a time-consuming manual process of the prior art. The scheduling process may include selecting a set of optical fibers, a wavelength, a start time and an end time to transport proposed traffic. A novel scheduler avoids checking every possible start time, thereby saving significant processing time. The scheduler schedules single-wavelength light paths, rather than relying on complex wavelength shifting schemes.

The power switch circuitry is turned on by the wake-up signal and connects the power source selector to the peripheral electronic device main circuitry and transfers the power signal output to the peripheral electronic device main circuitry.

The broadcast frame includes a request for a service or a resource to be sent. The hop-aware multicast engine sends the broadcast frame to a first set of mesh network devices being defined by the mesh header TTL value. The hop-aware multi-case engine determines that a response was not received within a time period; increases the mesh header TTL value; and sends a broadcast frame to a second set of one or more additional mesh network devices being defined by the increased mesh header TTL value.
