    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless communications system may support compression of channel information (e.g., channel feedback) in accordance with multiple compression schemes, from which a transmitting device may select for a channel reporting transmission. For example, a user equipment (UE) may be configured with multiple channel state information compression schemes, corresponding to different encoders or decoders, which may involve various machine learning or neural network techniques. The UE may select or otherwise determine which compression scheme to use for channel reporting in various scenarios, including a selection based on whether a compression scheme maintains relatively accurate reporting, or whether a more power-intensive or processor-intensive compression scheme is supported by an operating mode of the UE, among other selection criteria.

    Abstract: Digital holography is one of the most widely used label-free microscopy techniques in biomedical imaging. Recovery of the missing phase information of a hologram is an important step in holographic image reconstruction. A convolutional recurrent neural network (RNN)-based phase recovery approach is employed that uses multiple holograms, captured at different sample-to-sensor distances to rapidly reconstruct the phase and amplitude information of a sample, while also performing autofocusing through the same trained neural network. The success of this deep learning-enabled holography method is demonstrated by imaging microscopic features of human tissue samples and Papanicolaou (Pap) smears. These results constitute the first demonstration of the use of recurrent neural networks for holographic imaging and phase recovery, and compared with existing methods, the presented approach improves the reconstructed image quality, while also increasing the depth-of-field and inference speed.

    Abstract: A turboexpander can operate as a microgrid electric generator for islanding operations. The turboexpander can recover energy lost during a pressure letdown sequence to generate electricity. Pressurized process gas can cause a turbine to rotate, thereby rotating a rotor within a stator of the turboexpander. A power electronics can include an islanding mode inverter to output an alternating current that comprises a frequency and an amplitude compatible with powering a load. The power electronics can include a battery that is charged by the turboexpander and can provide power for starting up the turboexpander. The power electrics can include a bidirectional inverter to send excess power from the turboexpander to a power grid and to receive power from the power grid for start-up.

Another method may include preparing at least one undercut region on a surface to accept a cold spray deposition, performing a first cold spray process to deposit material into the at least one undercut region for reducing corrosion on a metallic interface formed at the surface; and performing a second cold spray process to build the metallic interface for joining an aluminum component.
