Patent number: 11737680Abstract: A system includes multiple electrically-conductive channels and a processor. The processor is configured to receive, over the electrically-conductive channels, (i) respective first electric currents from a probe, which is within a body of a patient, via a plurality of first electrodes, which are attached to skin of the patient at a region of the body, and (ii) a second electric current from the probe via a second electrode, which is attached to the skin and is connected to one of the channels. The processor is further configured to ascertain respective first electric-current values of the first electric currents and a second electric-current value of the second electric current, and to calculate a position of the probe between the region and the second electrode, based on the first electric-current values and the second electric-current value. Other embodiments are also described.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2019Date of Patent: August 29, 2023Assignee: Biosense Webster (Israel) Ltd.Inventors: Tamir Avraham Yellin, Fares Safe, Tamir Demri, Toam Shemesh, Daniel Osadchy, Dan Sztejnberg, Shaul Haim Raz, Michael Maydel, Menachem Schechter

Patent number: 11678863Abstract: An auditory guidance system and method for medical systems and procedures are disclosed. A method for providing auditory guidance during a medical procedure includes selecting a song for playing during the medical procedure. At least a portion of the song is assigned to the medical procedure. Parameter information for at least one parameter associated with the medical procedure is obtained during the medical procedure. The obtained parameter information is compared against predetermined thresholds for each parameter. The portion of the song associated with the parameter information is modified in accordance with the comparison and the modified portion of the song is played to provide auditory guidance during the medical procedure.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2020Date of Patent: June 20, 2023Assignee: Biosense Webster (Israel) Ltd.Inventors: Toam Shemesh, Moshe Ingel

Patent number: 11295835Abstract: An interactive event timeline system and method are disclosed. Multiple events and/or signal indicators are captured during a medical procedure, such as a cardiac procedure. Event data relevant to the cardiac procedure may include, tags, user generated points, ablation events, pacing events and other like events. An interactive event timeline is generated from the captured events and displayed on a visual display device. The interactive event timeline is correlated with a vertical listing of the events and a selected event viewer. All three views may be displayed simultaneously. The interactive event timeline allows a physician or user (collectively “user”) to see temporal relationships between the captured events. The user can see, for example, simultaneous events, long duration events versus short duration events, continuous events and specific event types.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2017Date of Patent: April 5, 2022Assignee: BIOSENSE WEBSTER (ISRAEL) LTD.Inventors: Moshe Ingel, Oshrat Ben Zaken, Ben Ami Novogrodsky, Toam Shemesh

Patent number: 11246534Abstract: A catheter includes a shaft for insertion into an organ of a patient, an extendable distal-end assembly, and two or more strengthening elements. The extendable distal-end assembly is coupled to the shaft and includes multiple splines, at least one spline includes a flexible circuit board having one or more electrodes disposed thereon, the circuit board is configured, when the distal-end assembly is extended in the organ, to conform to a surface of the organ so as to make contact between the electrodes and the surface. The strengthening elements are distributed along the circuit board of the spline and are configured to mechanically strengthen the spline.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2017Date of Patent: February 15, 2022Assignee: Biosense Webster (Israel) Ltd.Inventors: Shmuel Auerbach, Avi Reuveni, Toam Shemesh, Michael Levin

Publication number: 20110160618Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus for detecting and treating bruxism. The apparatus of the invention comprises a sensing unit, a calculation unit and a stimulation unit. The sensing unit is in charge of measuring the interocclusal distance and reporting this distance to the calculation unit. After receiving the information from the sensing unit, the calculation unit archives and processes the information to determine if the sensing event is a bruxism event. When a sensing event is confirmed as a bruxism event, the calculation unit selects an adequate stimulation and sends a request to the stimulation unit, which applies the selected stimulation. The apparatus of the present invention may be suitable for treating both diurnal and nocturnal bruxism and the intrabuccal components may be removed from the mouth when bruxism events are not expected to occur, i.e. during the day for an individual who suffers only from nocturnal bruxism.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2009Publication date: June 30, 2011Applicant: WISEMED LTD.Inventors: Toam Shemesh, Ayelet Rubinovitch Trop
