  • Patent number: 11313275
Abstract: The invention relates to a nozzle ring (10) for a radial turbine. The nozzle ring comprises a rotationally symmetrical, disk-shaped main body (11) with a central opening (12) for the leadthrough of a shaft (20). Furthermore, the nozzle ring comprises guide blades (14) which are arranged in a circumferential direction in a radially outer region of the main body (11) and which are designed to direct exhaust gases onto rotor blades (31) of a turbine wheel (30). The main body (11) of the nozzle ring is designed to, in the installed state, form a heat shield between a bearing space (40) of a bearing housing (41) and a turbine space (50).

  • Publication number: 20110162359
Abstract: The device serves for sealing a bearing housing of an exhaust-gas turbocharger, from which a rotor is led into a chamber of the turbocharger subjected to a mass flow. The device includes a sealing ring arranged in a groove of the rotor, a seat, arranged on the bearing housing and on which a pre-stressed sealing ring is secured by an outward-facing circumferential surface, and a radially extending separation gap, which leads annularly around the axis of rotation of the rotor and is defined by two superimposed sliding surfaces, the first of which is arranged on a first face of the sealing ring and the second of which is arranged on a first flank of the groove. In order to reduce a heat input into the sealing ring caused by lapping of the sealing ring during operation of the exhaust-gas turbocharger, a depression annularly around the axis is formed into the second flank of the groove. The depression is defined radially outwards by an annular body formed into the rotor.

  • Patent number: 7946809
Abstract: The exhaust-gas turbine comprises a turbine casing, a shaft rotatably mounted in a bearing housing, a turbine wheel arranged on the shaft, and a heat-protection wall, the heat-protection wall defining with the turbine casing an inflow passage leading to the turbine wheel. The heat-protection wall has two seatings, the first seating resting on the bearing housing and the second seating resting on the turbine casing. If the heat-protection wall becomes hot, the two seatings are pressed against the bearing housing and the turbine casing. The turbine casing is pressed outward in the radial direction. Centering of the heat-protection wall and thus also of the turbine casing is ensured by the radially inner seating of the heat-protection wall.

  • Patent number: 7344362
Abstract: In a turbocharger (1), comprising a turbine (2) and a compressor (3) connected to the turbine (2), the turbine (2) contains a turbine wheel (4) and the compressor (3) contains a compressor wheel (7) which are connected to one another by means of a shaft (10) and are arranged in a housing (5, 9, 16). During operation, if the compressor wheel (7) separates from the shaft (10), an axial force acts on the turbine wheel (4) and the shaft (10) connected thereto. A means (22, 25) for axially locking the shaft and the turbine wheel connected thereto in the housing (5, 9, 16) is arranged on the shaft (10) connected to the turbine wheel (4).
