  • Patent number: 7936851
Abstract: A method for use in an equalization of a channel by means of an equalizer 22, 23 is shown, wherein the channel uses a certain frequency band for a transfer of signals. In order to enable a channel equalization which requires a low complexity and which provides at the same time a good performance, the method determines a channel response for at least one frequency point within the frequency band used by the channel. The method further sets at least one adjustable coefficient (?0k, bck, brk, a0k, a1k, a2k of the equalizer such that an equalizer response compensates optimally the determined channel response at the at least one selected frequency point. Also shown is a corresponding signal processing device 2, a corresponding signal processing system and a corresponding software program product.

  • Publication number: 20040252772
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for a filter bank based signal processing system. In order to enable a signal processing with a low complexity and at the same time a good performance, a method is proposed which comprises in a first step performing a filter-bank based analysis for converting a complex higher-rate channel signal into oversampled lower-rate sub-channel signals, each sub-channel corresponding to a different frequency range. In a second step, the proposed method comprises processing the oversampled lower-rate sub-channel signals with a polynomial model of a system frequency response within the frequency range of the respective sub-channel. The invention relates equally to a unit and a system comprising means for realizing the proposed method.
