  • Publication number: 20230385543
Abstract: A computing system is described that includes user interface components configured to receive typed user input; and one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to: receive, by a computing system and at a first time, a first portion of text typed by a user in an electronic message being edited; predict, based on the first portion of text, a first candidate portion of text to follow the first portion of text; output, for display, the predicted first candidate portion of text for optional selection to append to the first portion of text; determine, at a second time that is after the first time, that the electronic message is directed to a sensitive topic; and responsive to determining that the electronic message is directed to a sensitive topic, refrain from outputting subsequent candidate portions of text for optional selection to append to text in the electronic message.

  • Publication number: 20230353513
Abstract: Methods and apparatus related to determining reply content for a reply to an electronic communication. Some implementations are directed generally toward analyzing a corpus of electronic communications to determine relationships between one or more original message features of “original” messages of electronic communications and reply content that is included in “reply” messages of those electronic communications. Some implementations are directed generally toward providing reply text to include in a reply to a communication based on determined relationships between one or more message features of the communication and the reply text.

  • Patent number: 11238211
Abstract: A system may use a machine-learned model to determine whether to classify a sequence of one or more words within a first document that is being edited as a candidate hyperlink based at least in part on context associated with the first document. In response to classifying the sequence of one or more words as the candidate hyperlink, the system may use the machine-learned model and based at least in part on the sequence of one or more words and the context to determine one or more candidate document to be hyperlinked from the sequence of one or more words. In response to receiving an indication of a second document being selected out of the one or more candidate documents, the system may modify the first document to associate the sequence of one or more words with a hyperlink to the second document.

  • Patent number: 11030515
Abstract: Methods and apparatus related to determining a semantically diverse subset of candidate responses to provide for initial presentation to a user as suggestions for inclusion in a reply to an electronic communication. Some of those implementations determine the semantically diverse subset of candidate responses based on generating, over a neural network response encoder model, embeddings that are each based on one of the plurality of the candidate responses. The embedding based on a given candidate response may be compared to embedding(s) of candidate response(s) already selected for the subset, and the given candidate response added to the subset only if the comparing indicates a difference criterion is satisfied.

  • Patent number: 11010547
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for generating and applying outgoing communication templates. In various implementations a corpus of outgoing communications sent by a user may be grouped into a plurality of clusters based on one or more attributes of a context of the user. One or more segments of each outgoing communication of a particular cluster may be classified as fixed in response to a determination that a count of occurrences of the one or more segments across the particular cluster satisfies a criterion. One or more remaining segments of each communication of the particular cluster may or may not be classified as transient. Based on sequences of classified segments associated with each communication of the particular cluster, an outgoing communication template may be generated to automatically populate at least a portion of a draft outgoing communication being prepared by the user.

  • Patent number: 10281315
Abstract: A system and a method for measuring a speed of sound in a liquid contained in a vessel or in a gaseous medium contained in the same vessel above the surface of the liquid. The method comprises: transmitting a first acoustic signal into the vessel to travel inside a first travelling plane. Emitting a second acoustic signal into the wall of the vessel to travel inside the wall of the vessel along a perimeter of the first travelling plane until it is received and obtaining a first time of flight of the first acoustic signal and a second time of flight of the second acoustic signal and obtaining a speed of sound in the vessel wall from a data memory. Determining the speed of sound in the liquid or in the gaseous medium from the length of the travelling path of the first acoustic signal and from the first time of flight.

  • Patent number: 10260929
Abstract: A system and a method for measuring a signal propagation speed in a liquid contained in a vessel or in a gaseous medium contained in the same vessel above the surface of the liquid are proposed. A transmitter transmits a first signal in a first direction which is at an acute or right angle to a first reflective surface, wherein the first reflective surface reflects the first signal so that it travels in a second direction is received by a first acoustic or electromagnetic receiver. The transmitter transmits a second signal in a predetermined third direction which is at an acute angle to the first direction, where the first or a second reflective surface reflects the second signal so that it travels in a predetermined and angular fourth direction with respect to the first or second reflective surface and is received by the first or a second acoustic or electromagnetic receiver.

  • Patent number: 10228275
Abstract: An application relates to a system and a method for non-intrusive and continuous level measurement in a cylindrical vessel. The system comprises an ultrasonic transducer for generating an ultrasound wave and for emitting it into the vessel wall, and an electronic control and data processing unit (ECDP) for controlling operation of the transducer and for determining the liquid level from a time of flight of the ultrasound wave. The transducer emits the ultrasound wave as a primary Lamb wave into the vessel wall so that a part of the primary Lamb wave leaks into the liquid. The ECDP changes the ultrasonic frequency of the transducer until the transducer receives a reflection of the emitted ultrasound wave in form of a reflection of the pressure wave, determine the corresponding time of flight, and determine the liquid level from the time of flight and from parameters of the ultrasound waves.

  • Patent number: 10215613
Abstract: A system and a method for non-intrusive and continuous level measurement of a liquid enclosed by a solid wall of a vessel. The system comprises an ultrasonic transmitter for generating an ultrasound wave and for emitting it into the vessel wall, an ultrasonic receiver for receiving the ultrasound wave, and an electronic control and data processing unit (ECDU) for controlling operation of the transmitter and of the receiver and for determining the liquid level. The transmitter is able to emit the ultrasound wave as a primary Lamb wave into the vessel wall so that a part of the primary Lamb wave leaks from the vessel wall into the liquid in form of a pressure wave. The ECDU is adapted to repeatedly determine the time of flight of the pressure wave, change the ultrasonic frequency of the transmitter until the determined time of flight reaches a minimum, and determine the liquid level.
