  • Patent number: 11821396
Abstract: A fuel injector having an improved sealing of an intake nozzle with respect to the receiving opening of a fuel distribution rail. A support ring, which engages with the sealing ring on the intake side, is provided at the intake nozzle. The support ring includes a planar underside for resting on a shoulder of the intake nozzle and a V-shaped contact surface facing the sealing ring. The support ring, which is acted on by the sealing ring, is provided with the V-shaped conical contact surface for the sealing ring that ensures that in the case of increased pressures, a minor radial escape of the support ring is made possible to the radial inside and outside and thus radial gaps and an extruding of the sealing ring into same are prevented.

  • Publication number: 20220333539
Abstract: An internal combustion engine having an engine control configured to operate in first and second operating modes. The first operating mode is configured to leave as many ignition devices deactivated per cycle in dependence on the currently present power demand. The second operating mode is configured to reduce a risk of deflagration due to unburned gas-air mixture present in an exhaust stroke. After a first number (N1) of cycles, for a second number (N2) of cycles, the second operating mode has more piston-cylinder units produce power per cycle than required for the currently present power demand. After the second number (N2) of cycles, for a third number (N3) of cycles, in dependence on a currently present power demand per cycle, the second operating mode has so many piston-cylinder units produce power that this results in a torque of the crankshaft adapted to the currently present power demand.
