Patent number: 8757889Abstract: A rolling element bearing, in particular a roller/needle bearing, having a cage including at least one inner cage and at least one outer supporting cage, said cages having windows (3) which are adapted to the rolling elements (8) and have lateral end rims (4) connecting a plurality of windows (3) and crossbars and in which the rolling elements (8) are guided and secured from falling out. Either the inner cage and the supporting cage are configured as a split inner cage ring and/or a split supporting cage ring and the rings can be attached to each other at the ends or the inner cage and the supporting cage are configured as inner cage shells and/or supporting cage shells and the shells can be attached to each other at the ends.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2011Date of Patent: June 24, 2014Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. Patent number: 8555848Abstract: A mass balancing mechanism and method of assembly of the same is provided. The mass balancing mechanism compensates mass forces and/or mass moments of inertia of an internal combustion engine and includes two compensation shafts and a traction drive which connects a driven pinion of the crankshaft to drive pinions of the compensation shafts through a traction mechanism. Rotation of the compensation shafts is achieved through a spur gearing with two meshing spur gears arranged between one of the drive pinions and the associated compensation shaft, one of the spur gears being connected to the one drive pinion and the other of the spur gears being connected to the associated compensation shaft. For adjusting the tooth flank lash between the spur gears, an eccentric bearing having a rotationally fixable eccentric raceway is provided by the invention.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2010Date of Patent: October 15, 2013Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KGInventors: Peter Solfrank, Tobias Mederer, Alexander Tasche

Publication number: 20130004110Abstract: A bearing ring includes a ring element having at least two grooves which extend from one axial side to the other axial side of the ring element and form predetermined breaking lines for cracking the ring element. The ring element is in the form of a sleeve produced by deep-drawing, wherein the grooves are also machined in during the deep-drawing of the sleeve.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 3, 2011Publication date: January 3, 2013Applicant: SCHAEFFLER TECHNOLOGIES AG & CO. Patent number: 8312855Abstract: A mass balancing device (1a, 1b) for a reciprocating piston internal combustion engine is provided, having a first balancing shaft (2a, 2b) and a second balancing shaft (3a, 3b) disposed in the first balancing shaft coaxially thereto. The first balancing shaft (2a, 2b) has at least one bearing point (6a, 7a, 6b, 7b) for a first rolling bearing (16) and the second balancing shaft (3a, 3b) has at least one bearing point (8a, 9a, 8b, 9b) for a second rolling bearing (17). The rolling bearings radially support the balancing shafts in the reciprocating piston internal combustion engine. At least one of the bearing locations is designed as a hollow cylinder having an outer shell surface serving as the bearing seat for the first rolling bearing and an inner shell surface serving as the bearing seat for the second rolling bearing, such that the first rolling bearing and the second rolling bearing overlap one another axially.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2008Date of Patent: November 20, 2012Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co.
