  • Patent number: 11186072
Abstract: A transparent peelable polyester film is provided having a base layer (B) with first and second surfaces. A layer (C) is applied on the base layer (B). A heat-sealable layer (A), peelable to APET AND RPET, is applied on the opposing surface of the base layer (B). The heat-sealable and peelable outer layer (A) is formed from (a) from 85 to 99% by weight of polyester and (b) from 1 to 15% by weight of other substances. The polyester is formed from 25 to 95 mol % of units derived from at least one aromatic dicarboxylic acid and from 5 to 75 mol % of units derived from at least one aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, and the polyester includes at least 10 mol % of units derived from linear or branched diols having more than 2 and the layer (C) includes crosslinked acrylate and/or methacrylate-based copolymers.

  • Publication number: 20200079064
Abstract: Coextruded, unstructured, transparent and thermoformable polyester films are provided including at least one base layer (B) made of a-PET and one heat-sealable outer layer (A). The heat-sealable outer layer (A) includes at least 80% by weight of polyester with from 25 to 95 mol % of units derived from at least one aromatic dicarboxylic acid and 5 to 75 mol % of units derived from at least one aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, along with aliphatic diols. The outer layer (A) also includes up to 0.4% by weight of inorganic or organic particles with median diameter d50 2.0 to 8.0 ?m. The thickness of the outer layer (A) is 10 to 100 ?m, and the thickness of the film is in the range 100 to 1500 ?m. The invention further relates to processes for producing the inventive film, and also to packaging for foods or other consumable products, such as trays.

  • Patent number: 5230944
Abstract: A laminated material having a latent inherent delamination potential which contains at least one layer comprising a thermoplastic, wherein the thermoplastic carries, at least on one side, a release layer of water-soluble or water-dispersible organic material. The material can be delaminated by a process of chopping the material and treating the material with water or steam. The laminated material is useful as, for example, a packaging material. The material can easily be delaminated into its individual layers, thus facilitating recycling of the materials.
