  • Patent number: 12329955
Abstract: The present disclosure describes intravascular oxygenation systems and methods with one or more of improved oxygen diffusion flux, improved resistance to bubble formation on the surface of non-porous hollow fibers, and reduced size. The systems and methods include a pneumatic inlet coupled to a pneumatic source that provides a gas containing oxygen at a high pressure. A plurality of hollow fiber membranes (HFM) are in pneumatic communication with the pneumatic inlet to receive the gas containing oxygen and with an outlet to exhaust a partially deoxygenated gas. An electronic controller drives the motor to oscillate the plurality of HFMs to cause a diffusive flux of the gas containing oxygen from the plurality of HFMs into a region of interest of a subject. The electronic controller may drive the motor according to an oscillation pattern, which may include a macro-oscillation with superimposed micro-oscillations.

  • Publication number: 20230134925
Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle. A map of corresponding event locations for one or more high load events is provided, wherein the one or more high load events have historically led to an above-average load on a vehicle component. A current position and/or route of the motor vehicle is determined. A high load event is identified from among the one or more high load events as likely to be relevant to the motor vehicle during the current operation. The identification of the high load event is based on the current position and/or route of the motor vehicle. The vehicle component is thermally preconditioned, via a corresponding automatic control of at least one device of the motor vehicle, before the motor vehicle has reached the corresponding event location of the identified high load event.

  • Publication number: 20190314567
Abstract: Intravascular membrane oxygenator catheter systems and methods are disclosed, along with methods of making and using the same. A catheter system includes a catheter shaft having a wall that extends from a proximal end to a distal end along a longitudinal axis to define a lumen, a plurality of hollow fiber membrane loops each having a proximal portion positioned within the lumen of the catheter shaft and a distal portion extending beyond the lumen of the catheter shaft, the hollow fiber membrane loops are nonporous with solid walls; a pneumatic source in pneumatic communication with the hollow fiber membrane loops. The pneumatic source provides a gas containing oxygen at a pressure sufficient to cause a diffusive flux of the gas containing oxygen from an interior of the hollow fiber membrane loops to a fluid exterior to the hollow fiber membrane loops in a region of interest of a subject.
