  • Patent number: 12662982
Abstract: A fuel pump comprising a valve assembly. The valve assembly comprises a valve member defining a valve axis, and an electromagnetically controlled armature assembly configured to reciprocate linearly along the valve axis within an armature chamber of the fuel pump. The fuel pump further comprises a spring configured to engage a first side of the armature assembly to provide a spring force acting in a first direction along the valve axis. The fuel pump further comprises a lift stop provided on a floor surface of the armature chamber and configured to engage a second side of the armature assembly to limit movement of the armature assembly in the first direction. The armature assembly comprises an armature body fixed to an armature carrier. The armature carrier is fixed to the valve member.

  • Patent number: 12378935
Abstract: A pump for a fuel delivery system comprises a main housing and a plunger housing arranged to couple to the main housing so as to define a compression chamber therebetween. The main housing and the plunger housing comprise respective first and second opposed faces which are arranged to form a seal therebetween. The main housing comprises a projecting portion which projects from the first face of the main housing through an opening in the second face of the plunger housing into a plunger bore.

  • Patent number: 10830220
Abstract: A high pressure fuel pump includes a pumping head and a plunger slidably adjusted in a bore. The plunger is provided with a blind bore defining a chamber open in the head end of the plunger and in fluid communication with the compression chamber, the end face of the plunger being limited to a peripheral annular face surrounding the opening, the bore further defining a peripheral cylindrical wall and a bottom face. A filler member is arranged inside the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20180252193
Abstract: A fuel pump housing includes a pumping chamber that is substantially spherical and a drilling intersecting the pumping chamber at an opening. The drilling transitions into the pumping chamber at a transition region of progressively increasing diameter. The transition region and the spherical pumping chamber are configured such that a peak stress in the fuel pump housing is at a location that is spaced away from the opening.
