  • Publication number: 20180214609
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of producing a decellularised tissue scaffold which comprising treating a sample of tissue with an osmotic reagent and a detergent whilst subjecting the tissue sample to oscillation with a displacement of 1 mm or more and a frequency of 3 Hz or more during these treatment steps. This method may be useful in producing acellular scaffolds that maintain the 3-D architecture and extracellular matrix composition and morphology of the native tissue.

  • Patent number: 9072061
Abstract: A mobile telecommunications network, such as a GSM, UMTS or LTE network, may include, in addition to the conventional radio access network comprising the base stations, one or more additional access points. An access point may be connected to the network core by an IP transport broadband connection. The access point may be configured to appear to the mobile terminal as a conventional base station. Arrangements are disclosed which allow the access point to dynamically adjust the power output through its Common Pilot Channel relative to one or more users. In other words, the greater the distance a user is from the access point, the greater the output power.

  • Publication number: 20150023208
Abstract: A GSM or UMTS mobile telecommunications network is provided including a radio access network comprising macro base stations with additional access points. The access points are connected to a network core via a hub and a concentrator and may appear to a mobile terminal as a conventional base station that communicates with the mobile terminal using GSM or UMTS protocols and does not require modification to a standard GSM or UMTS mobile terminal. The access points are associated as a cluster. A procedure includes performing initial configuration of the access points such that one or more of the access points operates in a transmit mode while the other access points operate in a receive mode only. The strength of the received signal is processed by a processor associated with the concentrator which calculates and provides parameters to each of the access points to provide optimum radio coverage within premises.

  • Patent number: 8346163
Abstract: A system for distributing radio frequency signals using a data cable system includes a method and components that receive a radio frequency (RF) signal, identify at least one unoccupied channel on the data cable system, convert the RF signal to the frequency associated with an unoccupied channel as a converted signal, insert the converted signal into the cable, extract the converted signal from the cable as an extracted signal, convert the extracted signal to a transmission frequency as a transmission signal, and transmit the transmission signal at the transmission frequency.

  • Patent number: 8346159
Abstract: Configuring a cellular telecommunications network base station repeater for use at a particular location includes performing data collection activity at the location to obtain an indication of the transmit frequency of a nearby base station of the cellular telecommunications network. The repeater is then set to amplify received signals at that frequency. By only amplifying this particular frequency, the repeater can provide cellular telecommunications coverage at a location (for example a basement) where coverage might not otherwise be available by amplifying only the relevant frequency. This is in contrast to amplifying indiscriminately a wide range of frequencies, which can interfere with other radio transmissions.

  • Publication number: 20070165551
Abstract: A method of operating a MBMS (Multimeda Broadcast/Multicast service) comprises causing a network controller to broadcast (1) to all mobile stations in a cell an offer of service. The network controller requests from each mobile station an indication of interest in the offered service and receives (2) data relating to each interested mobile station enabling the position or received signal quality of each mobile station within the cell to be determined. The network controller analyses the arrangement of interested mobile stations in one or more predefined areas and requires (7) each interested mobile station which is out of range of a subsequent broadcast transmission use an alternative mechanism to receive the service. (i.e. to use a point-to-multipoint connection if it out of range, while using a point-to-multipoint connection if it is in the range).

  • Publication number: 20060258384
Abstract: The present invention proposes a new downlink MBMS Associated Control Channel (MACCH), combining the functionalities of a broadcast channel and of an associated point-to-multipoint control channel, to be transmitted by a base station (BTS) to a user equipment (UE). By referring to specific information contained in the channel the user equipment (UE), establishes a point-to-point connection with the base station (BTS) without interrupting the reception of a broadcast/multicast service (MBMS).
