Abstract: Customers may give different merchants card information for purchasing products or services. The merchants may send the card information to a payment gateway or bank that confirms the card information and the amounts associated with the purchases. At least some of the same card information may be sent to a data provider. The data provider may generate transaction data that combines the card information with card information for other purchases from other merchants. Other performance metrics may be generated by comparing the transaction data with other information related to the customers, merchants, or products. Transaction processing and tracking is simplified since some of the same card information used for purchasing products or services can also be used for generating the transaction data.
