Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a game or gaming system provides a game which includes a plurality of regular symbols being placed in symbol positions (e.g., on reels of a reel-type slot machine game) and identifying that a first regular symbol of the plurality of regular symbols is to be designated as a first blended symbol in determining a result of a game event, wherein a blended symbol comprises a symbol which functions as (e.g., is substitutable for) at least two regular symbols of the game in determining results for game events of the game, the at least two regular symbols which the blended symbol functions as being determined based on the plurality of regular symbols determined for the game event in which the blended symbol is to be applied.
