  • Patent number: 12232931
Abstract: Earmuffs with a joint are provided to create a biased pressure distribution about a perimeter of the cup. The earmuffs may include a pivot joint. The pressure distribution creates a wedging pressure (e.g., on a top edge) on the cups that hold the earmuffs on the user's head, for example, when the user rotates the headband behind the head. The bias pressure is also used to adjust the seal formed between the pad and the user's head. Adjustments to the moment created by separating the joints from the cup's apex enable a user to selectively adjust the seal according to the user's preference. A cam is added to the headband to change the hoop stress distributed at the joints and further adjust the compressive forces generated to hold the earmuffs against the user's head.

  • Patent number: 12161894
Abstract: A test fixture facilitates non-destructive testing of a protective mask. The test fixture includes a mock facial structure, a clamping form that makes a seal around at least part of the facial structure, and can employ the retaining straps of the protective mask to a make a seal around at least part of the facial structure. In use, the protective mask is tested in situ on the facial structure. In some examples, the clamping form has a negative contour of the mock facial structure or of the outer surface of a protective mask that is to be tested. The testing can include repetitive testing of the fit, structural components (e.g., ultrasonic welds and straps), and the degradation of materials as a function of donning/doffing or environmental factors (e.g., temperature and humidity).

Abstract: A system for creating a song using vocal attributes extracted from a singing voice of an individual is provided comprising a computer and application executing thereon that digitally captures a plurality of vocal attributes of a singing voice of an individual. The system also processes, normalizes, identifies, and stores the attributes as a voice model. Based on dynamic outputs and digital audio files associated with the model, the system generates a performance of a new song created with the individual's singing voice. The system provides an identifier code for the voice model for storing and indexing the voice model and metadata or tags for identifying and tracking use of the voice model. The vocal attributes comprise at least range, timbre, flexibility, control, vibrato, resonance, articulation, expressiveness, stamina, tone and power of the singing voice and vocal traits comprising use of at least one of feel, phrasing, pronunciations, language, articulation, dynamics, meter, and rhythm.

  • Publication number: 20240385627
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices of the various embodiments may determine wind-optimal airspeed targets and predict wind-optimal airspeeds at waypoints in a flight plan and incorporate these values into a Flight Management System (FMS). A computing system may determine a wind-optimal airspeed in the presence of wind using the following method: i) create a lookup table for the wind-optimal airspeed as a function of aircraft type, wind magnitude, wind direction relative to the aircraft route/segment, and flight altitude to incorporate the lookup table in the performance database (PDB) of the FMS using RTCA DO-200 or an alternative process for the specific aircraft type; ii) use the FMS to target wind-optimal airspeed, and/or predict wind-optimal airspeed at waypoints in the flight plan in real-time (periodically and event based) by accessing the lookup table created and stored in the PDB using the required parameters.

  • Publication number: 20240251904
Abstract: Various hard hat fan systems are provided. In a certain embodiment, fan system includes an impact absorbing layer with a channel that defines a recessed surface which extends into the impact absorbing layer away from an inner surface of a shell of a hard hat. Together, the inner surface of the shell and the recessed surface define a duct configured to provide fluid communication between an inlet of the channel and an air vent positioned along the channel. In another embodiment, fan system includes a mounting bracket with first and second cam levers which may be actuated into a locked position, and first and second channels. When in the locked position, the first and second cam levers bias the edges of a mounting ridge of the shell against the first and second channels of the mounting bracket such that the mounting bracket is retained on the shell.
