  • Patent number: 10355466
Abstract: A de-icing apparatus for a flexible conductor, for example a suspended power line, is supported for longitudinal displacement along the conductor. The apparatus has a frame, a motor driven wheel on the frame for rolling engagement along the conductor and at least one guide element supported on the frame so as to be arranged to engage the conductor so as to cause at least one flexion in the conductor when the frame is suspended from the conductor by engagement of the drive wheel and said at least guide element on the conductor. The propagation of the flexion along the conductor cause ice and snow collected on the conductor to be loosened and fall from the conductor.

  • Publication number: 20060016361
Abstract: Currently popular military and civilian war-games involve non-combustably propelling “impact-fracturable ‘paintballs’” which fracturably deposit ambient-light-surrounded visual identification upon a war-games participant target. The present invention provides improved non-combustably propelled “impact-fracturable ‘paintballs’” which impactably deposit upon a war-games participant target of a colored-dye material that is visually identifiable under the substantial absence of target-surrounded ambient-light conditions namely nocturnally and similar light-lacking ambient conditions.

  • Publication number: 20050084318
Abstract: Two, or more parallel vertical shafts extend downwardly from a horizontal connecting bridge and which bridge is provided with an upwardly extending, manually wieldable handle. Shafts' lower portions are provided with selectable applicators for selectable surface applyable fluids, and which applicators are preferably fluids-augmentable taking brush-like and/or dauber-like configurations, and conceivably alternatively taking semi-solid configurations such as for lipsticks and other semi-solid cosmetics. The parallel shafts, including their selectable applicators, can be downwardly securely, but readily removably upwardly retrievably, inserted through roof-apertures of an uprightable receptacle, and which receptacle might be internally charged with one or more fluid-augmentations for brush-like and/or dauber-like fluids applicators.

  • Publication number: 20050069500
Abstract: Readily retrievably selectable from commercially available dentifrices, a selected dentifrice is solid-state dosage charged within a relatively-thin readily-masticatable and hydroscopic/salivascopic envelope material. The envelope material is preferably of conventional normally-solid thermoplastic gelatins, readily commercially available in various forms such as, inter alia, chargeably-receiveable capsules, in laminatable thin-sheets, etc. Plural such dentifrice-enveloped articles can be assembled into a storage vessel and thence periodically retrieved individually at subsequent teethbrushing sessions.

  • Patent number: 6742908
Abstract: For regularly encounterable walking shoes environments typically having a treaded lower-base and an overlying foot-rest surface, disclosed herein are visual warning devices respectively extending loftily vibratorily helically above the foot-rest surface and topically carrying a visually bright ornamental feature. The bright ornamental feature (preferably of bulbous shape) is alternatively provided as: of self-luminescent characteristic; or alternatively, as an electrically-powerable incandescent bulb powerable from a chemical storage-battery that is rearwardly removably attachable to the walking shoe environment.

  • Patent number: 6638613
Abstract: Therapeutically Enhanced Saliva-Activatable Cellulosic Product comprising a conventional flexible cellulosic paper item having parallel horizontal broad surfaces including an upper-surface and a lower-surface and which surfaces are intersected by an upright longitudinal-edge, said conventional cellulosic paper item being non-conventionally augmented at the upper-surface thereof and nearby along a longitudinal-edge with a saliva-activatable therapeutic-layer carrying at the topical-surface thereof a selectable therapeutic-agent. Among such generally available conventional cellulosic paper items, and thus available for saliva-activatable therapeutic enhance, are conventional rollably secureable cigarette papers, mailing envelopes, epidermally-adherent body bandages, etc.

  • Patent number: 5394312
Abstract: Athletes' shoes or other analagously selectable footwear conventionally having opposed vampwalls is modifiably augmented to provide at least one firstly transversely outwardly extending and secondarily longitudinally rearwardly extending part that is terminally rearwardly provided with an energizeable luminaire. A parallel plurality of such terminally rearwardly luninaire-type hollow tubes might emanate from vertically-arranged vampwall-openings and extending semi-rigidly cantileverly from each such vampwall-opening.

  • Patent number: 5383885
Abstract: Described is a blood collection and testing device including a hollow housing surrounding a vertical axis and having horizontally disposed: an upper annular end; a larger, lower annular end equipped with gauze adapted to receive a blood sample; a circular membrane located above the lower annular end and centrally provided with a puncturably rupturable bubble containing a chemical reagent reactable with human blood; and a centrally-perforate wall located in-between the circular membrane and the housing upper annular end. Slidably disposed within the housing upper annular end is a pushbutton provided with a needle extending along the vertical axis and adapted to puncturably rupture the circular membrane bubble as the slidable pushbutton moves along the vertical axis. A resiliently yieldable helical spring surrounds the needle and bears between the centrally-perforate wall and the pushbutton.

  • Patent number: 5329432
Abstract: Athletes' shoes, or other selectable footwear conventionally having a flexible forward tongue, is modified into a tongue forward-fold provided with a horizontal aperture and in forward alignment with the incandescent lamp portion of a luminaire system so that such lamp might beam directionally forwardly from the tongue of the worn footwear. The directionally forward light beam is not only aesthetically attractive, but also can illuminate the directionally forward pathway being taken by the wearer. In preferred embodiments, the luminaire system is a unifiabie incandescent lamp and storage battery power source therefor, and with such unit being securely and replaceably positioned immediately behind the tongue forward-fold.

  • Patent number: 4641014
Abstract: A hand-held hair dryer includes an elongated tubular barrel containing an electric heating element and extending from a hollow volute portion provided with a rotatable impeller producing a flow of air through the barrel. A tubular handle is secured to the volute portion by an elongated rectangular cross-section base portion extending generally transversely to the longitudinal axis of the barrel and having parallel opposed base-sides provided with mirror image C-shaped indentations. A conventional portable radio receiver provided with a speaker and controls is stably seated and cradled within the opposed indentations of the base-sides with the speaker and controls positioned in registry with windows formed in the base-sides to enable the user of the dryer to relieve the tedium of hair drying by listening to music or other entertainment from the housed radio receiver.
