  • Patent number: 6802563
Abstract: A vehicle seat assembly includes a seat back having a frame, and the frame has first and second bolster mounting portions. Each bolster mounting portion has first, second and third receptacles. The seat assembly also includes first and second bolsters selectively engageable with the first and second bolster mounting portions, respectively. Each bolster has first and second posts and is longitudinally adjustable with respect to the seat back between a first longitudinal position and a second longitudinal position. When each bolster is in the first longitudinal position, the first and second posts of the first bolster are respectively engaged with the first and second receptacles of the first bolster mounting portion, and the first and second posts of the second bolster are respectively engaged with the first and second receptacles of the second bolster mounting portion.

  • Patent number: 6347590
Abstract: A tray table for a vehicle that is extensible from and may be stored in a center console. The center console has longitudinally shiftable lateral side walls that define a pocket for storing the tray table. The lateral walls of the center console are moveable along a track to permit fore and aft adjustment of the location of the table relative to a seat in the vehicle. A push button is provided on a pivot locking mechanism to lock and unlock a tray support arm. A cup holder may be provided on the tray support arm that is moveable between a storage position in which it is parallel to the tray support arm and a use position in which it is perpendicular to the tray support arm.

  • Patent number: 6338518
Abstract: A storage system is provided for the rear storage compartment of a vehicle. The storage system may include a collapsible cart that is received in tracks in a load floor. Other types of objects may be stored on the load floor or in compartments below the load floor. Compartments may be provided below the load floor on a tray having multiple compartments that is rotatable within a well formed under the load floor. • Patent number: 6145919
Abstract: A vehicle sliding door is movable in forward and rearward directions between opened and closed positions with respect to a vehicle body. The rear door has a cavity formed therein. An armrest is pivotally movable about a pivot axis between a horizontal position for use as an armrest and a vertical position for storage within the cavity. The pivot axis is substantially parallel to the forward and rearward directions. The armrest includes an actuator for automatically moving the armrest between the vertical and horizontal positions as the door moves between the opened and closed positions, respectively. The actuator may comprise a pneumatic drive system, a flexible drive cable or an electric motor for automatically pivoting the armrest between stowed and use positions.

  • Patent number: 5984419
Abstract: An automotive seat back having a pair of spaced upright members with lower ends and upper ends interconnected by a cross member to define a substantially rectangular back frame. The upright members and the cross member also have a front surface and a rear surface. A shoulder belt housing extends upwardly between the upright members from below the cross member to an upper distal end disposed above the cross member. The shoulder belt housing also extends forward of the front surfaces of the upright members and the cross member. Specifically, the front surfaces define a frontal plane of the back frame and the distal end of the shoulder belt housing extends forwardly beyond the frontal plane of the back frame. The housing includes a coffin portion, defined by side walls and a bottom, and a cover disposed over and in sealing engagement with the side walls. A seat belt passes within the coffin portion and out through an opening in the cover to overlay a front surface of the seat back.

  • Patent number: 5788250
Abstract: A tubular bushing (26) assembly made of plastic material and disposed in an opening (24) defined by a pair of spaced sheets in a seat back (14) of an automotive vehicle to adjustably support each of the posts (22) of a headrest (20). The bushing (26) comprises an outer sleeve (28) presenting ribs (32, 34) for engaging the edges of the opening (24) in each of the sheets of the bracket of the seat back frame (18) and an inner sleeve (30) for insertion within said outer sleeve (28) for slidably supporting the post (22) and having hoop rings (46, 48) for forcing the outer sleeve (28) radially outwardly to deform the ribs (32, 34) about and into gripping engagement with the edges of the openings (24).
