  • Patent number: 7911073
Abstract: A system and method for generating electricity using a hydro-hydraulic gravitational generator. In such a system, a main housing that is disposed in deep water may be exposed to deep water pressure. A piston disposed in the main housing may be raised as water enters the main housing. Water passing through water turbines generate electricity in this phase. After the piston is raised to its highest point within the main housing, the main housing may be exposed to atmospheric pressure such that the gravitational force on the piston expels the water that was just drawn in. The expelling water also may generate electricity by being passed though water turbines. The cycle may be repeated and electricity may be continuously generated.

  • Patent number: 7901462
Abstract: Compositions and methods are provided for preparing a metal substrate having a uniform textured surface with a plurality of indentations with a diameter in the nanometer and micrometer range. The textured surface is produced by exposing the substrate to an etching fluid comprising a hydrogen halide acid and/or an oxyacid, a chloride containing compound, and an oxidizing agent. The etching solution can be used at ambient temperature without damaging the metal elements on the substrate surface. This textured surface enhances adherence of coatings or cells onto the textured surface, improves the retention of proteins on the surface, and encourages bone in-growth.

  • Publication number: 20090208609
Abstract: A food producing method used in panning for delivering enhanced nutrition benefits and for decoupling adhesion and texture and the resulting product. First a plurality of center portions are obtained and introduced into a mixer. Then primary slurry is added followed by a dry mix which adheres to said center portions. Next, a secondary slurry is prepared which provides the adhesiveness required to adhere inclusions to the center portion. The use of a secondary slurry allows the decoupling of adhesion and texture whereby a softer product is produced which does not yield a hard, glassy texture.
