  • Publication number: 20110270754
Abstract: A method for authenticating a check of a plurality of checks where the check was previously issued from a first party to a second party, including receiving first information from the first party, storing the first information in a file of a third party and receiving the check. The check has first party identifying information, a unique pseudorandom number of a pseudorandom sequence, and an amount. A status of activating the plurality of checks is determined. At least a portion of the first party identifying information included with the check, the unique pseudorandom number included with the check and the check amount included with the check are authenticated. The received check is authenticated if the first party, the unique pseudorandom number included with the check and the amount included with the check are authenticated and if the plurality of checks have been activated.

  • Publication number: 20090313269
Abstract: Methods and computing devices enable users to identify documents using a hash value mapped to a word mnemonic for easy recall and comparison. A hash algorithm may be applied a document to generate a distinguishing hash value. The hash value is mapped to a plurality of words to form the mnemonic. To obtain the words, the hash value may be mapped to word indices used to identify particular words in word lists. Word lists may include a list of nouns, a list of verbs, and a list of adverbs or adjectives, so that the resulting three word mnemonics are memorable. More word lists may be used to map hash values to four-, five- or more word mnemonics. The number-to-mnemonic mapping methods may be used to map large numbers, such as account numbers, telephone numbers, etc. into mnemonics which are easier for people to remember and compare.

  • Patent number: 7476377
Abstract: Sodium nonatitanate compositions, a method using the composition for recovery of 82Sr from irradiated targets, and a method using the composition for generating 82Rb. The sodium nonatitanate materials of the invention are highly selective at separating strontium from solutions derived from the dissolution of irradiated target materials, thus reducing target processing times. The compositions also have a very low affinity for rubidium, making it an ideal material for use as a 82Rb generator. Sodium nonatitanate materials of this type both improve the recovery of 82Sr and provide a safer, more effective 82Rb generator system.

  • Publication number: 20080141214
Abstract: The present invention provides for tracking time spent on various activities in a software development project by one or more users working on the project. The present invention also stores this data to derive metrics and best practices. The metrics and best practices are compared with project data to analyze the current status of the project and to estimate the completion timeframe for the current project.

  • Patent number: 7329400
Abstract: Radioisotope generators comprising inorganic layered hydroxide composition, such as magnesium aluminates and lithium aluminates. These inorganic layered hydroxides form anion exchange materials that exhibit surprisingly high selective affinities for certain radioisotopes. Inorganic layered hydroxides have been prepared and shown to have high affinity for tungstate anions, the anion form of tungsten-188, yet low affinity for perrhenate anions, the anion form of rhenium-188.

  • Publication number: 20070240670
Abstract: A cylinder head of an engine is disclosed, the cylinder head including an upper deck, a lower deck, and a sidewall extending between the upper deck and the lower deck. The lower deck defines a block-engaging portion and a combustion chamber flame deck. The combustion chamber flame deck is spaced apart from the block-engaging portion. An engine is also disclosed that includes a cylinder block having a cylinder bore, and a piston slidably positioned within the cylinder bore. The engine also includes a cylinder head having a lower deck connected to the cylinder block, the lower deck defining a block-engaging portion and a combustion chamber flame deck. The combustion chamber flame deck is spaced apart from the block-engaging portion by a recess.

  • Publication number: 20060150945
Abstract: An engine that is operating with a combustible intake mixture may begin in to runaway, or in other words, uncontrollably operate at excessive speeds. In order to shutdown a runaway engine, the present disclosure determines whether an engine is operating in a runaway condition. If the engine is operating in the runaway condition, a compression inhibiting mechanism is moved from a first position in which compression ignition can occur within at least one combustion chamber and a second position in which compression ignition cannot occur within the at least one combustion chamber.

  • Publication number: 20040005272
Abstract: Inorganic ion exchange materials for the separation of 90Y from 90Sr include chabazite, clinoptilolite, potassium pharmacosiderite, sodium titanosilicate and sodium nonatitanate. These materials are suitable for making a 90Y generator that contains 90Sr immobilized on an ion exchange column of the materials. The materials have a very high selectivity for 90Sr, a very low selectivity for 90Y, good radiation and thermal stability, low toxicity, fast reaction kinetics, and can be readily and reproducibly synthesized. A method is thus provided for eluting 90Y from the ion exchange material with an eluant solution. The eluant solution is preferably aqueous, preferably has a pH greater than about 5, and preferably includes a chelating agent. Preferred chelating agents include gluconic acid, oxalic acid, iminodiacetic acid, nitrilotriacetic acid, citric acid, and combinations thereof.

  • Patent number: 5988000
Abstract: A multi-dimensional strain sensor for measuring the strain forces on a drawbar or other load bearing member. The strain sensor is used in conjunction with a load bearing member having a top surface, a bottom surface, a left surface and a right surface. The strain sensor has a four strain gauge pairs, each located on the top, bottom, right and left surfaces. The gauges are configured to output voltage relative to strain placed on them. The outputs from the four gauges are amplified. The outputs from the top and bottom gauges are then input to a differential amplifier in order to determine vertical load. The outputs from the right and left gauges are input to a differential amplifier to determine side load. The sum of the top and bottom gauges and the sum of the left and right gauges are input to a differential amplifier to determine draft load. An analog to digital converter is coupled to the gain amplifiers in order to zero the gauges.
