  • Publication number: 20230296489
Abstract: A sorting system including a flow cell with a first inlet, a second inlet, and an outlet. The sorting system also includes a buffer supply in fluid communication with the first inlet, a sample source in fluid communication with the second inlet, a light source configured to generate a light beam that intersects the flow cell, and a sensor aligned with the light source and configured to detect a characteristic of the light beam. An air valve is configured to generate an airflow at the outlet of the flow cell, and control of the air valve is based on the characteristic of the light beam detected by the sensor.

  • Publication number: 20170188600
Abstract: One variation of a method for preparing a frozen food product includes: following insertion of a vessel into a receiver: activating a cooling element thermally coupled to the receiver; transitioning a rotary motor from rest to a first target angular speed; and setting a first timer of a first duration; in response to expiration of the first timer and detection of contents of the vessel approximating a first target viscosity: reducing an angular speed of the rotary motor; and setting a second timer of a second duration; in response to expiration of the second timer and detection of the contents of the vessel approximating a second target viscosity: reducing the angular speed of the rotary motor; and setting a third timer of a third duration; in response to expiration of the third timer: reducing the angular speed of the rotary motor; and indicating completion of a frozen food product.

  • Publication number: 20080038130
Abstract: A medical pump includes a chassis having a fixed seat, and a main carriage having a carriage footing for receiving a fluid delivery device and restricting its movement. An actuator automatically moves the main carriage between open and closed positions to engage the fluid delivery device to the seat. The seat establishes the position of both the main carriage and fluid delivery device in the closed position. The actuator is connected to the main carriage by a rear carriage assembly having a manual release element for disengaging the actuator from rear carriage assembly and thereby from the main carriage. A processing unit detects jam conditions by processing carriage position data and electrical load data from the actuator.

  • Publication number: 20070089621
Abstract: Compositions, methods, apparatuses, kits, and combinations are described for permanently or temporarily re-designing, decorating, and/or re-coloring a surface. The compositions useful in the present disclosure include a décor product that is formulated to be applied and affixed to a surface. If desired, the décor product may be substantially removed from the surface before being affixed thereto. If a user desires to remove the décor product, the décor product is formulated to be removed by a number of methods including, for example, vacuuming, wet extraction, chemical application, and the like. If the user desires to affix the décor product to the surface in a permanent or semi-permanent manner, the décor product may be affixed to the surface by applying energy thereto in the form of, for example, heat, pressure, emitted waves, an emitted electrical field, a magnetic field, and/or a chemical.

  • Publication number: 20050135047
Abstract: A first portable medical device is adapted for use in an interlocking system for interlocking the first medical device to a second medical device. The first device includes a housing having opposite sides, a selective element, a blocking element, and an optional clamp mechanism. At least one of the opposite sides includes a matable element to detachably attach a second medical device. The selective element restricts the attachment of the second device to only one side of the first device. The blocking element prevents a third medical device from attaching to the first and second devices once the first and second devices are attached. The clamp restricts the attachment of the second device to only one side of the first device when the clamp is attached to a support member. The clamp permits slide-ratcheting axial movement of a clamp shaft.
