Patent number: 11920901Abstract: Police officers use conducted electrical weapons (“CEWs”) and cameras. A camera and a CEW may cooperate to improve the performance and use of the CEW and evidence collection by the camera. A camera and a CEW may also cooperate to improve the safety of the user and the target. Improvements may include improving targeting of the CEW, identifying and classifying body parts of the target as suitable or unsuitable for electrode deployment, adjusting electrode trajectory prior to launch, and automating electrode launch. Evidence collection may be improved by recording placement of electrodes on the target. Safety of the target may be improved by monitoring the movements of the target and altering characteristics of the delivered stimulus signal if potential harm to the target may occur.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2021Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: Axon Enterprise, Inc.Inventors: Todd Basche, Tyler Conant, Gabriel Othman, Nache Shekarri

Publication number: 20140047701Abstract: A method and system to enable the easy identification of a key which corresponds to a particular lock is disclosed. The key and lock of a mating key-based lock assembly, from a production of like assemblies having a finite number of mating key/lock configurations, are marked with the same indicia selected from a set of indicia comprised of words, alphanumeric characters, symbols, colors and shapes, or combinations thereof, which set of indicia is larger than the number of unique key/lock configurations in the production of like key and lock assemblies.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 3, 2013Publication date: February 20, 2014Inventor: Todd Basche

Patent number: 7877810Abstract: A system, method and client user interface for a copy protection service employs software agents masquerading as nodes in decentralized networks for monitoring and interdicting file sharing activities of protected files in the networks. A control center communicates with the software agents and subscriber client computers through user interfaces, so as to provide monitoring information to users of the client computers and control the monitoring and interdiction of protected files according to instructions received from the client computers. A one-click method for requesting protection of a file, providing the terms of such protection, and updating billing information for the user is implemented through the user interface to simplify user interaction with the copy protection service.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2005Date of Patent: January 25, 2011Assignee: Rovi Solutions CorporationInventors: Todd Basche, Usha Srinivasan, James Patterson, Mitesh Pancholy

Publication number: 20100218570Abstract: The present disclosure describes tumbler-style combination locks and methods for marking tumbler-style combination locks. The locks include a locking member movable between locked and unlocked configurations with respect to a lock body, a plurality of tumblers individually rotatable with respect to the body and coaxially positioned along an axis, and a plurality of strings of letters corresponding in number to the plurality of tumblers. The letters are randomly selected from an alphabet and positioned on an individual tumbler in a string around the axis.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 2, 2010Publication date: September 2, 2010Inventor: Todd Basche

Patent number: 6621405Abstract: A customizable combination locking system using textual combinations. The principle object of the present invention is to provide a method to create a lock that is capable of being set in any desired set of letters that spells words that are easy for the user to remember. These words are supplied as a list and the tumbler positions are created from that list. The resultant lock would be commercially viable, as it will use existing, standard lock mechanisms comprised of tumbler rings with ten positions (0-9) and two, three, or four tumblers. The letters that appear in each of the ten positions have been selected through the described process. Having been selected, each lock is capable of being set to one of several thousand actual word combinations.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1999Date of Patent: September 16, 2003Inventors: Todd Basche, Mark E. Patent number: 6119164Abstract: In response to input received from an operator, a workstation fully performs programmed instructions to carry out operator requests represented by the input. In addition, the workstation also records profile information derived from data representing operator choices and sends that profile information to a server along a communications path such as a telephonic link to a publicly-accessible network. The server analyzes the profile information, generates display information in response to the profile information, and returns display information along the communications path to the workstation. In turn, the workstation presents the display information to the operator. In this manner, information customized according to profiles can be delivered to people and organizations most likely to be interested in the information content.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1997Date of Patent: September 12, 2000Assignee: Full Circle Software, Inc.Inventor: Todd Basche
