Patent number: 11047769Abstract: In one example, fleet devices are monitored. The fleet devices include engines. A controller, such as an engine controller or centralized controller, receives sensor data indicative of a load on the engine from one or more of the fleet devices. The controller analyzes the load from the sensor data to identify a management function. The controller generates a message including the management function.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2018Date of Patent: June 29, 2021Assignee: Kohler Co.Inventors: William Schnell, Martin Radue, Travis Andren, Todd Baumann, Mark Johansen

Patent number: 10148202Abstract: An apparatus includes a controlled field alternator or utility source of electrical power, a segmented waveform converter, and a controller. The source of electrical power is configured to generate a polyphase signal. The synchronous inverter includes multiple switches connected between the polyphase signal of the source of electrical power and an output filter. The controller is configured to provide a control signal for the switches based on measured electrical quantities associated with the output filter and may provide a field control signal to the controlled field alternator. The apparatus may be applied to a vehicle, a lawnmower, a zero turn radius lawnmower, or another type of machine.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2016Date of Patent: December 4, 2018Assignee: Kohler Co.Inventors: Isaac S. Frampton, Adam Larson, Terrence Rotter, Todd Baumann

Publication number: 20010036033Abstract: The present invention is a method of correcting radial position error signal (PES) values by utilizing predetermined error correction values located at predetermined locations in advance of their associated servo fields. Calculated correction values are written to zero-acceleration path (ZAP) fields on the disc during the manufacture process. ZAP fields are positioned before the servo fields whose PES they are designed to correct. The ZAP field is comprised of two or more correction data elements to correct subsequent PES values. As the read/write head flies along a track, it reads a ZAP field, and stores the PES correction data in local random access memory (RAM). Subsequently, the corresponding servo field is read and the stored PES correction data is used to correct the PES. Two types of ZAP fields are written on the disc—one type for read operations, another type for write operations.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 17, 2001Publication date: November 1, 2001Applicant: Seagate Technology LLC.Inventors: Todd Baumann, EweChye Tan
