  • Patent number: 9866961
Abstract: A multi-channel loudspeaker enclosure and display support stand incorporates left speaker system and right speaker system integrally in a winged center channel enclosure 16. The multi-channel “winged” loudspeaker system enclosure includes a plurality of loudspeaker drivers mounted within baffles defining a plurality of compartments or sub-enclosures. The loudspeaker system enclosure has “wings” projecting laterally from a central pedestal support. The wings define bottom surfaces which provide a virtually invisible location for down-firing left and right side mid-bass drivers 601, 620, 640 (see, e.g., FIG. 12). In the multi-channel “winged” loudspeaker system of the present invention, the center channel speaker units, left channel speaker units and right channel speaker units each include one or more speaker drivers configured and driven to provide superior acoustic summation with the down-firing midbass drivers and with an optional subwoofer placed in a separate enclosure configured as a pedestal support.

  • Patent number: 8983083
Abstract: Electronic devices and accessories for electronic devices such as headsets are provided. The electronic devices may produce audio output. The headsets may include earbuds with speakers that play the audio output for a user while the earbuds are located in the user's ears. Circuitry in an electronic device and a headset may be used in evaluating how well the earbuds are sealed to the user's ears. In response to seal quality measurements, informative messages can be generated for the user, overall earbud volume may be increased, balance adjustments may be made to correct for mismatched balance between left and right earbuds, equalization settings may be adjusted, and noise cancellation circuitry settings can be changed. Electrical impedance measurements and acoustic measurements can be used in evaluating seal quality.

  • Publication number: 20090238384
Abstract: A method and support structure for integrating audio and video components includes integrating a plurality of components having diverse functions, e.g., tuners, media player/recorders, amplifiers and a surround sound unit, into a single supportive enclosure configured as a unitary system rather than one with many boxes or modules requiring additional space. The modules may share a common power supply and heat dissipation components. The enclosure provides a stand to support a video display unit or a television set. A shelf support and an interface are optionally provided for a discrete component such as a cable box. In an alternative embodiment, the enclosure does not support a video display unit but houses a center channel speaker unit in a structure unitary with the enclosure.

Abstract: In a home entertainment system, a plurality of modules having diverse functions, e.g., tuners, media player/recorders, amplifiers and a surround sound unit, are integrated in a single enclosure. A unitary system is provided rather than one with many modules requiring additional space. The modules may share a common power supply and heat dissipation components. The enclosure comprises a stand on which a video display unit, such as a television set is supported. A support, such as a shelf, and an interface may be provided for a discrete component such as a cable box. In a further form, the enclosure need not necessarily support a video display unit. A further embodiment also houses a center channel speaker unit in a structure attached to or unitary with the enclosure. The center channel speaker unit may also be provided as a stand-alone unit.

  • Publication number: 20050286346
Abstract: A compact lightweight electro-acoustic transducer system for generating high intensity, highly directional audio output. The transducer system can generate acoustic intensity levels that can drive the transmission medium to non-linearity such that highly directional secondary sound also can appear in the audible range allowing direct and parametric sound generation from a single acoustic emission system. The device can be used for both distant and/or high intensity communications to convey information, provide high intensity acoustical targeting and/or disrupt or mask other communications.
