  • Publication number: 20250037818
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for improving patient safety using virtual observation. A falls risk assessment and a patient safety risk assessment are initially provided within an electronic health record of a patient. A clinician is prompted at a clinician device to provide input to the falls risk assessment and the patient safety risk assessment for the patient. Based on the input, a safety assessment score is determined for the patient. The safety assessment score is provided to the clinician via the clinician device and the clinician is prompted to initiate an order to place a camera in the room of the patient. Based on the order, a virtual sitter may be assigned to the patient to monitor the camera.

  • Patent number: 12205716
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for managing patient assistance requests in a healthcare facility, documenting items (e.g., minor, routine, and/or frequently-performed items) in association with a patient's records in an Electronic Healthcare Information System, and cancelling patient requests for assistance. Indications that requests for assistance have been received and/or are being addressed by an appropriate healthcare team member may be audibly output from a speaker associated with a personal assistant device. Healthcare team members may verbally provide items for documentation in association with a patient's medical records, the items for documentation being received by a listening component of a personal assistant device and transmitted to an EHIS for documentation.

  • Publication number: 20240203430
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are provided for responding to requests received from users in a healthcare facility, and for generating alerts based upon criticality detected in received verbal utterances. A personal assistant device (PAD) may receive a verbal request for information. The identity of the requestor may be verified and a response to the request may be received by the PAD. In some cases, prior to audibly outputting the response, it may be determined whether the response contains protected health information (PHI). Upon determining that the response contains PHI, the presence of persons other than the patient in proximity to the PAD and/or security of the location of the PAD may be evaluated prior to audibly outputting the response. Additionally, alerts having a heightened criticality may be generated when a received verbal utterance is determined to have a heightened criticality.

  • Patent number: 11722538
Abstract: The present invention is directed to intelligent and near real-time monitoring in a streaming environment. In embodiments, a streaming platform streams raw data from raw data capture devices, where the raw data is contextually enriched using multiple information sources. A rule execution operator, integrated within the streaming platform, detects events by executing rules against the contextually enriched data. The rules applied are customizable, flexible, multivariate, and dynamically responsive to changing information. When an event is detected, an action can be instantiated in response to the event detection and/or newly derived information. The action and/or instructions for performing the action are communicated to external sources, where the action can be initiated and/or completed. Accordingly, actions are instantiated in near real time relative to the initial receipt of raw data from which the events were detected. Actions may be delayed using sophisticated temporal reasoning, in some embodiments.

  • Patent number: 10643137
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and methods for integrating flexible event detection into a near real-time streaming environment. A streaming platform streams raw data from multiple sources, adds contextual information to the raw data, and makes inferences from the enriched information. A rule execution operator, being integrated within the streaming platform, executes rules against the enriched information to detect events, using a rule repository that stores a plurality of flexible, dynamic, and customizable rules. When an event is detected by the rule execution operator, the streaming platform may use a middleware component to instantiate actions that are responsive to a detected event. Actions may be directly performed, and/or the actions and instructions for implementing or performing those actions are communicated to external devices.
