  • Patent number: 11760464
Abstract: A yaw alleviation device for an aircraft containing rotatable wing roots attached to wings. The device includes a spring configured to operatively connect to a wing; and a buckling member to operatively connect to the wing. The spring is configured to extend from an original unstrained position upon the buckling member undergoing buckling from an original unbuckled position to cause rotation of one or both wings in rotationally opposite directions. The buckling member may be positioned parallel and at an offset distance to the spring.

Date of Patent: September 19, 2023
Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Army
Inventors: Todd C. Henry, John T. Hrynuk, Christopher M. Kroninger, Michael R. Dorothy, Robert A. Haynes
  • Patent number: 11560919
Abstract: A device includes a frame including a first end and a second end; a mechanism including a first side that faces the first end of the frame, and a second side that faces the second end of the frame; a first buckling member attached to the first side of the mechanism and the first end of the frame; a second buckling member attached to the second side of the mechanism and the second end of the frame; and at least one actuator that engages the mechanism, the first buckling member, and the second buckling member in a selective sequence causing the mechanism to articulate between the first end and the second end of the frame. Engagement of the first buckling member and the second buckling member by the at least one actuator causes the first buckling member and the second buckling member to buckle and unbuckle in the selective sequence.

  • Patent number: 6097484
Abstract: A method for amplifying defects connected to a top surface of a semiconductor device comprises the steps of applying a dye, removing the dye, and applying a developing gel. The dye enters into defects connected to the top surface of the semiconductor device. After removal of the dye from the top surface and application of the developing gel, the dye contained within the defects leaches into the developing gel to form defect indications. These defect indications have a better optical visibility than the defects themselves. An apparatus for performing this method is also disclosed.
