  • Publication number: 20250064999
Abstract: A portable decontamination chamber including an outer container defining a first internal volume; an interior receptacle positioned within the first internal volume and defining a second internal volume that is configured to receive an item to be decontaminated; an insulating liner configured to be positioned within the first internal volume between an interior surface of the outer container and an exterior surface of the interior receptacle; a thermite compact configured to be positioned within the first internal volume and in contact with at least a portion of the exterior surface of the interior receptacle; and an initiator configured to ignite the thermite compact to induce a biological decontamination temperature within the second internal volume in order to thoroughly and rapidly decontaminate material tainted with unwanted biological matter in a readily deployable package without the generation of additional gaseous products that increase the pressure within the decontamination chamber.

  • Patent number: 12179897
Abstract: A marine engine assembly has a housing including an outer housing having a front wall, an inner housing disposed in the outer housing and being connected to the outer housing by at least one housing fastener disposed at at least one first position, a cover removably connected to the outer housing, and a gearcase connected to a lower portion of the outer housing. An internal combustion engine has a front face connected to and supported by the inner housing by at least one engine fastener disposed at at least one second position being different from the at least one first position, and a crankshaft defining a crankshaft axis intersecting the front wall of the outer housing. The inner housing is disposed at least in part between the front face of the internal combustion engine and the front wall of the outer housing.

  • Patent number: 8893639
Abstract: A drive unit has an engine, an operatively connected driveshaft, a transmission, and a propeller shaft connected to a rotor outside a gear case. A plate, extending above the rotor, is adapted to slidingly receive along a joint axis, an accessory having an accessory joint element which is one of a channel and a protrusion. Extending parallel to the joint axis along a plate joint surface, which is one of a first surface facing away from the rotor and a second surface facing toward the rotor, is a plate joint element, which is the other of the channel and the protrusion, adapted to slidingly interlock with the accessory joint element to thereby prevent displacement thereof in a first direction parallel to the plate joint surface and perpendicular to the joint axis, and in a second direction normal to the plate joint surface. An accessory attachment method is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5524578
Abstract: An engine having an engine block defining at least two cylinders having respective cylinder heads. Pistons are reciprocal within respective ones of the cylinders. The cylinders have respective fuel inlet ports and exhaust ports and two of said cylinders have an idle relief port disposed between their respective exhaust port and head ends. The idle relief ports of the cylinders are interconnected by a passageway for providing communication between the idle relief ports of said at least two cylinders. This has been found to provide reduced pull start resistance, reduced engine vibration during idle, and significantly reduced horsepower loss over a wide operating range which horsepower loss is normally associated with idle prior art relief structures which vent directly from idle relief ports to atmosphere.
