  • Patent number: 7008310
Abstract: A wafer carrier for use in polishing disks. The wafer carrier includes a main body and an integral visual inspection wear indicator. The main body has at least one opening formed therein adapted to receive a disk. The visual inspection wear indicator provides a visual indication of when the main body has reached the end of its useful life. The inspection wear indicator may have several portions to incrementally identify the approximate wear stage, that is, the approximate remaining useful life.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 1, 2002
Date of Patent: March 7, 2006
    Assignee: Entegris, Inc.

  • Patent number: 5384352
Abstract: A compactible polybenzimidazole composition contains from about 95 to about 5 weight percent of solid lubricant particles which are uniformly dispersed and encapsulated in from about 55 to about 95 weight percent of polybenzimidazole. The solid lubricant comprises graphite and boron nitride in a weight ratio of about 10:1 to about 1:10. The composition is useful for preparing self lubricating, shaped articles such as bearings, bearing sleeves, rings, seals, etc. which exhibit low friction properties.

  • Patent number: 5167889
Abstract: A process for heat treating polymeric compositions into a shaped article comprising the steps of:a. placing a polymeric composition into a molding means;b. adding a compactible material to the molding means to surround the polymeric composition;c. pressuring the molding means containing the polymeric composition to force its particles into intimate contact with the compactible material, and clamping the molding means so as to maintain the pressurized state;d. heat treating the pressurized molding means containing the polymeric composition to form a densified, shaped article; ande. releasing the pressure on the molding means and removing the heat treated, shaped article.
