Patent number: 11562608Abstract: Embodiments of the present application generally relate to controlling ingress/egress through entryway devices. More particularly, but not exclusively, embodiments of the present invention relate to attaining confirmation of intent relating to access to a controlled opening. According to certain embodiments, the credential device and/or the user of the credential device is prompted to provide a response, or otherwise is to perform certain actions, that can demonstrate a confirmation of intent to gain access to the controlled opening. Such responses and/or actions can be evaluated to determine authority to gain access to the controlled opening. Further, such intent confirmation events may, depending on the embodiment, be performed before or after credential information is communicated from the credential device and/or before or after pairing of the access control device and the credential device.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2021Date of Patent: January 24, 2023Assignee: Schlage Lock Company LLCInventors: Jeremy Earles, Joseph W. Baumgarte, Todd Eberwine, Brian Sherman, Ryan C. Kincaid, Jeffrey S. Neafsey, Michael P. Hogan, Timothy N. Comerford

Patent number: 11023875Abstract: A system and method for the management of electronic credentials stored on mobile devices. The system may encrypt information that is provided to a lock device and an access control system using diversification keys. The diversification keys may be generated by supplying a master key and a component identifier such as, for example, a mobile device identifier, to a diversification algorithm. The mobile device may be a conduit for the communication of information between the access control system and the lock device. The mobile device may be unable to decrypt information that has been encrypted by a diversification key. Embodiments also provide for enrolling administrative mobile devices with the access control system, the distribution and revocation of credential identifiers for user mobile device, and removing administrative mobile devices that are enrolled with lock devices.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 2019Date of Patent: June 1, 2021Assignee: Schlage Lock Company LLCInventors: Todd Eberwine, Jeffrey S. Neafsey, Jon P. Torre, Donald L. Beene, Hamid Abouhashem, Michelle Vickrey, Andrew Oliver

Patent number: 10311664Abstract: An access control device that at least assists in controlling the ingress/egress through an entryway. According to certain embodiments, the access control device is operably coupled to an entryway device so as to at least assist in controlling the ability to displace an entryway device from a closed position and/or from an open position. The access control device is structured for communication with a plurality of components of a security management system, and thus may be programmed by one or more modes, including, for example a manual program mode, an off-line managed mode, a wireless off-line management mode, a wireless real-time mode, and/or an off-line real-time mode.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2018Date of Patent: June 4, 2019Assignee: Schlage Lock Company LLCInventors: Joseph W.
