  • Patent number: 6385808
Abstract: A bi-positional toothbrush comprising a brush head member (18) rotatably mounted to a handle (14) by a cylindrical pin (22) and coil spring (26) is described. The brush head member includes an array of bristles (42) at a forward end and terminates in an essentially flat angled surface (46) at a rearward end. The angled surface includes an axial bore (58) shaped to permanently constrain the forward end of the pin. The handle is elongated and includes at a forward end an essentially flat surface (70) angled at the same angle to the long axis of the handle as the angled flat surface of the brush head member is to its long axis. The angled flat surface of the handle includes an axial bore orthogonal thereto, sized to receive the pin and terminating in a means to rotatable secure the pin within the axial bore. The angled surfaces of the handle and brush head member includes symmetrical locking features (54, 86).

  • Patent number: 5815875
Abstract: A bi-positional toothbrush comprising a brush head member rotatably mounted to a handle by a cylindrical pin. The brush head member includes an array of bristles at a forward end and terminates in an essentially flat angled surface at a rearward end. The angled surface includes an axial bore orthogonal thereto, sized to receive the pin and terminating in a means to rotatably and removably secure the pin within the axial bore. The handle is elongated and includes at a forward end an essentially flat surface angled at the same angle to the long axis of the handle as the angled flat surface of the brush head member is to its long axis. The angled flat surface of the handle includes an axial bore, including securing features, shaped to constrain an after end of the pin. The angled surfaces of the handle and brush head member include symmetrical locking features.

  • Patent number: 5706545
Abstract: A multi-positionable toothbrush comprising a brush array member shiftably supported on the forward end of a hollow handle member within which is housed a toothed element adapted to change its position in accordance with the tooth setting in reference to a spring biassed lever having a detent adapted to be disposed between the teeth in the toothed element; the particular disposition being effected by pressing the lever against its spring bias to allow the brush array member to have its position changed relative to the axis of the handle member.

  • Patent number: 5564565
Abstract: A disposable receptacle for receiving and retaining for disposal a used hypodermic syringe comprising a body in the shape of the frustum of a pyramid and formed of two mating halves joined together along a vertical plane comprehending the pyramid axis, each half being molded of a light inexpensive plastic material and defining half of a orifice extending from the top of the pyramid down partially toward its bottom. Inside the upper rim of the orifice formed by joining the two halves is a recess provided with resilient means to permit the syringe cap to be passed into the orifice but retained against withdrawal therefrom. Thereby the syringe may be withdrawn from its cap for use and re-inserted after use for disposal with the receptacle body.

  • Patent number: 5442831
Abstract: An angularly adjustable toothbrush comprised of an elongated handle section and an elongated forward section with a brush array at its forward end. The after end of the forward section is provided with a transverse cylindrically rounded member with an axial orifice and flanked by a pair of concave shoulders facing rearwardly. A series of recesses spaced from each other is provided to circle part of the cylindrically rounded member. The handle section is bifurcated at its forward end to provide arms which embrace the cylindrically rounded member and are orificed in register with the member orifice to receive an axle pin to hold them together for rotation. The handle section has an axial bore extending from the bifurcation into the middle section of the handle and into which is disposed a slideable plunger biased forwardly by a spring toward the bifurcation so as to enter one of the recesses to lock the forward and handle sections in a particular angular configuration.
