Abstract: A coating applicator vehicle is configured to selectively discharge a flow of liquid emulsion and aggregate onto a roadway. The vehicle includes a rolling chassis and a powered spraying assembly supported by the chassis. The spraying assembly includes a pump and a spray bar assembly. The vehicle also includes a control system with a speed sensor and a computer. The computer is operably connected to the pump to control a volumetric flow rate of coating material provided by the pump as a function of the sensed ground speed to apply coating material at a predetermined application rate.

Abstract: An apparatus for determining a condition parameter of a battery, receives measurement signals related to the battery, determines input data such as electrical impedance from the measurement signals, and provides the input data to a plurality of different prediction algorithms, wherein each prediction algorithm provides a condition parameter estimate. A plurality of condition parameter estimates are then provided to a decision fusion algorithm, allowing a more accurate prediction of the condition parameter.

Abstract: A flameless pavement repair system includes a vehicle with a hopper. One or more flameless heating elements are installed adjacent the hopper to maintain materials in the hopper within a selected temperature range. The pavement repair system also includes an on-board generator that is powered by the vehicle and provides sufficient power to the electric heating element during vehicle operation to heat pavement repair materials stored therein.
